Re: Help identifying marches
Hi!
I've managed to recoginze only the 3rd one (id7): it's a fragment from Fledermaus-Quadrille by Johann Strauss II.
Maybe someone can help with the rest, I'd like to know the titles too

Re:
Greetings gentlemen! I have 2 pieces from Die Deutsche Wochenschau that I was wondering if anyone knew of. Unfortunately Youtube has pulled many of these videos off as many of you are aware but I was able to find them on other mediums. The first is from https://archive.org/details/19420422Die ... .60728m51s and runs from 7:00 to 7:15. I've tried to google the words to the song but have come up with nothing.
The next piece is one I've heard before years ago with choral music almost like it was part of an opera. I swear it was composed by Wagner as well but wondering if anyone had any idea. The music starts at 4:30 and runs until 6:55. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1087032461423954
Much appreciated gents!

Hello and

It's the folk song "In der schönen Rosenzeit" https://www.volksliederarchiv.de/in-der ... rosenzeit/Griptonix wrote: ↑15 Apr 2020 17:53The first is from https://archive.org/details/19420422Die ... .60728m51s and runs from 7:00 to 7:15. Doesn't sound familiar to me & doesn't sound like Wagner.Griptonix wrote: ↑15 Apr 2020 17:53The next piece is one I've heard before years ago with choral music almost like it was part of an opera. I'm interested in the name of the march played from 14:00 till 14:28 in the following Deutsche Wochenschau movieclip :
(Sequence shows Colonel-General Dietl saluting a RAD Batallion which was ordered with constructing a road in a tundra in northern Norway)

Side note : this is my first post

Re:
I think this is a version of the "Preußischer Präsentiermarsch". It is in use until today:

Hello, Esoteric_Nostalgist and
Hello, luckystrike78; it is indeed a presentation march, but it's not the "Preußischer Präsentiermarsch". I don't know which particular presentation march it is, it doesn't sound familiar to me; I've checked all presentation marches that I have and failed to find a match.
Cheers,
Ivan

Re:
Hello Ivan,
can you exclude the possibility of the march in the video being a heavily military drum focused (instrumental) rendition of one of the typical RAD marches ? I know your name from outside this forum so i think you'd have all sorts of RAD recordings. Perhaps that way, we could get closer to identifying the march.

Re:
Hello, SiegenOderSterben
This composition is still unidentified. As far as I've noticed, it was usually used in newsreels for the scenes with foreign volunteers fighting against Bolshevism. One of its first uses known to me was in the film "Leibstandarte-SS 'Adolf Hitler' im Einsatz" (1941) and the invasion of Yugoslavia part.
Also,
(I missed to post it after your first post.)
Cheers,
Ivan

I've been looking for this piece for years. It's too good to be written specifically for Wochenschau. Can anyone help?

Re: Unidentified radio/newsreel music
Can anyone tell me which tunes comprise the soundtrack to the second reel of Wochenschau 574? The first and second tracks in particular (Mussolini's arrival/troop review scenes) have piqued my interest.
