The Pianist
Because the pianist acted like a mouse during full movie.A very overrated movie!
For better understanding of Jewish behaviour during the Holocaust (or any people found in a similar situation), I suggest reading "... trotzdem Ja zum Leben sagen", written by the famous psychiatrist Viktor Frankl, who was a Holocaust survivor himself. Always research before commenting.

Pearl Harbor tops my list. It was absolutely wretched. U-571 is another idiotic waste of time.

I can stand for a war movie to take liberties with the storyline to make it more compelling or for it to work on the movie screen. I find it acceptable that at the time it was made certain things had to be compromised to even make the movie, or that the script writers were working with limited historical information.

Fury has issues because it's so cliché. Everything from the ugly Americans, to the five Shermans versus a Tiger and beyond. That made it a poor movie. But any movie where it's little more than a string of clichés is bad unless it is intended as a parody or dark humor.

Now, if you just want bad, really bad, there's Zone Troopers which is hideous as a WW 2 - sci fi combination

This one will make you gag on so many levels it hurts... It starts at about 31 minutes in the linked video.

Greetings to the topic,

maybe, I repeat myself, but for me there are no good and no bad war movies.
I am definitely not a fan of Tarantino's films, probably the man has seen too many bad films in his childhood and youth.

On the other hand, I like his movie "Jackie Brown".
One of my favorite movies, I like the totally crazy plot, the actors, and the soundtrack.
Besides, the lady Pam Grier is an icon of my youthful years, for whatever reasons... :D
(Probably I have also seen to many "bad" movies, but "Jackie Brown" was an homage to Dame Pam Grier)

More about bad war movies later...

will tell you one thing
all those suck Rambo films, as well as Claude VanDam movies
on so many raids we found shoe boxes full of them under every "holy warrior's" bed
with a ton of porno
HOWEVER Sly taught every third world clown how to shoot from the hip & miss everything
thus saving the lives of countless US & allied troops
a reporter once asked me, after an awards ceremony
"are purple hearts for soldiers & bronze stars for officers?'

I wonder when the new British film called ‘Pegasus Bridge’ will be coming out, apparently, they put it on hold because of Brexit and now we have the Covid 19, so I don’t know if anyone has heard anything.
The movie is about the glider troops capturing Pegasus Bridge on D-Day and it has a good British cast.

Good afternoon,

I was watching the american war movie "Sands Of Iwo Jima" from the year 1949 the other night, once again, late night german TV.
German Title: "Du warst unser Kamerad" (E: "You were our comrade...")

Wikipedia (E): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sands_of_Iwo_Jima

What a waste of time, I propably watched the movie in my younger years in the local cinema in the 1960s,
and later one or two times on the german TV late in the night.
Incredibly bad, as a fan of John Wayne, this film one of the Duke's worst movies.
Wayne, which I appreciate for some later westerns, just terribly bad, what a nonsense!

I liked everything about the 'Fury'... until they started fighting at the crossroads.
The ending was horrible, but the movie itself was highly entertaining.

Has anyone ever seen Miracle at St. Anna by director Spike Lee? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1046997/

Oh my God, I have never seen anything that comes close to this laughably awful abomination of a WWII film. If you really want to see a bad WWII film, this is the movie you've been looking for.

I am aware about the Dukes worst movies,
The so called "Cavalry Trilogie" John Ford / John Wayne, one of the very few masterpieces in the cinematic histrory.

Legendary, undisputed, period.

I like him as an actor, for his personal behavior, not at all.

The worst war movie ever is certainly The Dirty Dozen: Next Mission, but there are countless runners-up.

Sometimes, you just need to see a movie still to know it must be pure crap:

Greetings askropp,

I do not like to mention this damn series of movies at all, a waste of time, nonsense!

Liked Burt Lancaster in the movie "Castle Keep" from the year 1969, one of the few movies, almost never on the german TV,
not even in the middle of the night.

The Last Drop

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0398029/

A good British cast but truly dreadful. You'd think by 2006, movie makers would realise the pre-war black SS uniforms were no longer routinely worn. But why let truth get in the way a good story and having Laurence Fox march around like he'd just come from a Nuremberg rally.

Good afternoon to the topic,

yesterday evening on the german TV:

"Overlord" (2018) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overlord_ ... 20Woodbine.

Translation from the german wikipedia:
"The mixture of war and trashy horror film full of bizarre characters, images and moments of horror, realized with considerable means, not only pays homage to the zombie genre, but also makes extensive use of the motif arsenal of B-Pictures and action films and torches an equally crazy and entertaining fireworks display of moments of tension and terror."

Oha! :?

After watching this war-horror-nazi-terror-zombie-massacre for almost one hour, I had to switch to another TV channel,
what a nonsense, what a waste of money, energy, and production time.

PURE NONSENSE!

Hans1906

* Me by the way completely incomprehensible, why such nonsense is radiated to the best transmitting time on a sunday evening, private transmitter naturally, these kretins shrink from nothing... 8O :D
