Hi Dima,

I have this tractor as type DT up to 9.500 kg payload. Here a pic of the type FT, also with a sleeper cab, a tractor up to 15.000 kg payload.

Regards

@ SIS 5, about post #355.
Are you sure this is a sleeper cab?
I have seen similar cabs in moving vans which has a second bench to seat additional movers.

That's a good question. Do you think these trucks can be used to transport goods over long distances?

Hi Leo,

thank You for Your reply. Probably You are right. I know about the problem, but it is hard to say is it a sleeper cab or an expanded cab for an additional bench. I think that vehicles of the moving companies had a second bench, but vehicles for long-distance transport had sleeper cabs.

Best regards

Bert

@ Dima: In peacetime, moving vans could also transport household goods over long distances. Upon mobilization, many of these heavy trucks — with their trailers — were requisitioned for Wehrmacht use. Their drivers were frequently inducted and stayed with their vehicles. The Wehrmacht obviously did not have a need for a lot of household moving vehicles, so these trucks were used to transport a variety of cargo. They were pretty much limited to good roads, so most of this type of truck were used in the Grosstransport units.

@ Bert: The large window in the back seems to indicate a passenger position. Most of the sleeper cabs had a smaller window, if at all.
