Combat Report Of M-24 Light Tank In Northwest Europe - 1944/45

The attached report was prepared by the 744th Tank Battalion and details their experience using the M-24 Light Tank. The 744th was originally composed solely of M5A1 Light Tanks but did receive attachments of Sherman Tanks in 1944 and 1945 to boost their fire power.

Note that the 744th claimed two Tiger Mk IV tanks as knocked out during the last months of the war. However, the details of these claims are not listed in this report.

I will post the remaining pages in follow up post shortly.

EVERY German AFV was a ''Tiger'' to Americans

The two attached reports provide further information about the use of the M-24 Light Tank, several issues with its performance and maintenance and recommendations for modifications. These reports are from the US Army Combat Notes report series. The issue date for the reports that do not have a heading are listed in the attachment title.

I will post the third and forth reports in a follow up post shortly.
