Waffen-SS Knight's and their Battles - Volume 5: June-August 1944

Loyalty and Honour Publishing are pleased to announce their latest title for 2020.

In agreement with Schiffer Publishing Ltd, Loyalty and Honour Publishing will be publishing 'Waffen-$$ Knights and their Battles - Volume 5: June to August 1944'.

The book is at the printers and I expect delivery of them in the first week of December.

Despite covering the shortest timeframe yet (3 months), this volume will be the thickest to date, with:

410 Pages
30 Maps
78 Photographs
76 Knight's Cross related awards detailed

Also, with the agreement of Schiffer, this volume will look and feel the same as the first 4 volumes.

The timeframe covered in this volume will detail the initial Knight's Cross related actions for the Normandy campaign, plus the Tannenberg Line actions, as well as other relevant W-$$ Knight's Cross related actions approved in that intensive summer of 1944.

To go on the wait list, please PM me.

(It is anticipated that 2 further volumes will complete this series. Whilst work is underway on those, the immediate focus will be on V5, with new additional titles almost completed)

Thanks for the ongoing support and interest.
Peter

Peter,

Have you found a citation for Viktor Grabner?

I've looked at Tieke, (p.125 in English language version) and he quotes a SS-Pz.A.A. 9 report to Division that describes Gräbner's unit recapturing Noyers and capturing 5 British POWs: "Noyers taken after battle. Attacked on orders (277. ID). AA 'hedgehogged' in Noyers for the night. 5 Panzers of Pz.-Div. Contact established to left. 5 prisoners taken in. Enemy had heavy losses. Own losses reasonable. Since July 16th, 20:00, Trommelfeuer on Noyers. Contact left and right insecure."

And wondered if there was a matching citation for which he was awarded the Knight's Cross?

Regards

Tom

Hi Tom,

The recommendation doc differs in the wording used, but it was the same action that resulted in his RK award.

Hope that helps

Hi Mr. Mooney- do you have a release date for this book? The OP says early Dec. I checked Schiffer's website but V5 hasn't appeared yet.

For those in the midst of deciding which books to add to your Xmas list, the video review for 'Waffen-SS Knights - Volume 5', may help?

It can be viewed on my Youtube channel (uploaded last night) here:

They are ready to go when you are.

Thanks

Regarding Volume 5 of this ongoing series, it has not been published by Schiffer. However, this is identical in look and feel (minus the dust cover) to the 4 previous volumes; something which Schiffer assisted with.

It is published by Loyalty and Honour Publishing and can be viewed here:

https://www.lahpublishing.com/Waffen_SS ... s_V5.html

This will only be available directly from myself. To obtain your copy, email me on

[email protected]

It is a heavy volume and one-third longer than any of the previous volumes.

Thanks for the interest and support.

Peter,

Thanks, I’ll take a look at how the action at Noyers looked from the British perspective too.

Here is an image, sent by someone who just received their Volume 5; i think it gives a good visual view of that new volume and how it stacks up against the previous volumes.

Be interesting to 'fact-check' the claims. The Tieke account is for night of July 16
