But a small hint is perhaps important, the main actor in the movie at that time came from so-called "poor circumstances".

Would be called the "lower class" nowadays, if this term is still acceptable at all.

Hello,

maybe it is from the German production Die Weiße Rose from 1982 with Ulrich Tukur as the catholic resistance activist Willi Graf?!

But my first thought was Tukur as SS-officer Kurt Gerstein in Rolf Hochhuth's movie adaption Der Stellvertreter. But at that time Tukur wasn't that young anymore.
