Not sure if this was from La Rochelle or La Pallice, looks a flooting torpedo-battery

Not a bunker, but the mounting of torpedo tubes from a destroyer on a barge at Trondheim in the spring of 1940.

That photo must have been made in several copies, as it's well known already (the vierling rohrsatz from both Theodor Ridel and Paul Jacoby was used in this role during spring 1940 in the Trondheim-fiord, and later moved to the permanent batteries on each side of the fiord):

Very nice Jos, here a proof of being still there! First thought of mine, it was a Wasserbombenwerfer. Keep them coming 👍🏻

I am unsure as to the meaning of the photo. It is obviously a gun battery as its position is see entirely too far from the water. There is no way a torpedo launched from the bunker would clear the ground and rocks and reach the water.

I did see it later yes. On the left side there are more built. Never seen two bunkers intergrated like that, quite unusual. Wonder were the torpedo battery would be then?

According to the Landfeste Torpedosperrbatterien im europäischen Raum – Stand 20.7.1944 there were 4 batteries in La Spezia, of wich at least one was a subsurface installation (I have two photos of that battery, but can't find them now).

The attached photos shows one of the La Spezia-batteries installed as harbour-defence.

I'd love to get more information of these batteries, which appears to have been using italian equipment.

Regarding the installation of a shore-battery: Considering the G7a(TI) torpedo (most likely suitable as a representative for the "maximum" parametres being the heaviest of the various torpedoes used in the german batteries, disregarding the failed M5 coastal defence torpedo project), you would need at least 25 m free waterdepth in front of the battery and probably at least 5 m horisontal clearance to the water (although the torpedo could "fly" at least 15 meteres, it would depend on the tide, angle of attack and the depth). Normally, the tubes were to be mounted at 3-4 m above the waterline.
