It appears that Archiv Signatur RH 10/244 refuses to be downloaded. Has anyone been able to get this record?
We did, no problem.

Do you have to be logged in to view digital files online? When I click on the digital record link ("Digitalisat anzeigen") I just get an eternal loading page.
The site can be slow some days. Try again at a later time.

The site is not as stable at is should, which is a key reason why we are doing a local copy.

Right the opposite. Firefox can save the images, while Chrome cannot not (or only through a cumbersome procedure).

I'm looking through the recently-published RH10 files (thanks for that by the way!) and there's a few terms I'm not familiar with, being an English speaker that only knows a bit of German. One is "Bb." or "Br.B." which comes in front of a number of a report or command order. Can anyone tell me what that's an abbreviation for?

Hunter can you indicate an example file that contains this abbreviation ? With German the context is very important when translating stuff.

I first noticed it in RH10-48, here it's "Bb.Nr." in the top right corner, other times it's "Br.B. Nr."

And a somewhat related question, what is the proper way to cite (as a source) these Geheime Kommandosache files?

About quoting the source, various habits coexist. There should be official guidelines somewhere, but if you check the footnotes in the books, you will see each author has his/her own way.

What matters is making sure an educated reader (starting with yourself a few months after writing) can find the document. So at least, you should mention "BAMA RH10/48", then pick a way to identify the page. You can give the folio , here it's "f8", though not all files are numbered. Some people like to copy the document ID, but I believe "Nr.8111.43 gK" won't help anyone.

Naturally, the date is mandatory, "9.8.43".

I like it best when I read an explicit identification as "Entwicklung der Panzerlange bei Heeresgruppe Mitte", and it's sometimes interesting to mention who signed it.

This document is from AG Center, adressed to, not from, OKH. Just a copy filed.

- H.Gr. Mitte/Abt. Ia, Nr. 8567/43 g.Kdos. v. 8.8.1943: "Entwicklung der Panzerlage bei Heeresgruppe Mitte in der Zeit vom 5.7. bis 1.8.1943" (BA-MA, RH 10/48, Bl. 8 f.).

Btw, invenio is a complete disaster for me, can't load anything. TsAMO webpage a million times better.

For the people having trouble using/downloading from the Invenio BookReader I have developed a little Python scraper tool. If you're interested in using this, you will find the code together with a readme in the PanzerPlace repository over at Github: https://github.com/PanzerPlace/bama-scraper

How to use this applciation
Step 1
Browse to the record you'd like to download. Once you see the record browser, right-click it and select "This Frame > Show Only This Frame". After the page finishes loading, press F12 to open Developer Tools. Click the Console tab and type window.Drupal.settings.islandoraInternetArchiveBookReader. An object is dumped to the console as response. Right-click the object and select 'Copy Object'. Paste the contents to the settings.json file in the project directory.

Step 2
The settings you just copied contain tokens that are bound to your current Invenio session. Therefore, we need to make sure the scraper requests the images using the same session. For this we need to copy the cookies from your browser to the application. To do this, first type a new command in the console: document.cookie. Again, right click the line that appeared and 'Copy Object'. Paste the content in the cookie file in the project directory.

Can a little photo guide how it works?

The command is accessible with Firefox, but probably not with all browsers.
