Hi,

the location Leningrad fits, because there are two geografical informations: Krasnoe Selo and Jelnja. The first is near to Leningrad, the other is near to Smolensk. The second must be a mistake. The direct distance between Krasnoe Selo and Jelnja is 600 km. I think it was the town Strelna on the Baltic Sea, also very near to Leningrad. So the soldier mistook Jelnja for Strelna. Jelnja became famous, because there were heavy fightings in 1941.
Here a map with both towns, the airport Pulkovo and Leningrad with the two districts Moskovskij Rayon and Kirowskij Rayon.

Regards

Bert

Hi!
Photo from ebay signed as "Cannone 105 mm Ansaldo"
Please tell me what is this gun???
It seems to me that the signature is wrong, I think it is Obice da 75.

It is its bigger brother, the 90 mm CA Mle 26-30 on carriage Mle 1931 for the French Navy. According to the back of the picture, it was taken at the French AA battery of Fort du Grand St-Antoine, which protected the French naval base in Toulon.

Hi Alexander, i think Sturm78 is right, this schwere 10 cm K. 18 have the rare steel wheels for horse drawn, and this fits with 1938. (for testing only)
