DAK Order of Battle from 15. Panzer Division KTB
Hi All
I found the following pages in the 15. Pz.Div. KTB some while back and thought the unit entries originally listed in 1941 would be of interest. Panzer Regiment 5 is shown as though all 8 kompanien were present. No date of issue is attributed to these pages in the KTB

Hi Dili
Sadly it was just pages of formation and unit names. There are two Luftwaffe unit pages that I will post but these will be after Christmas due to time constraints.

Ok, thanks looking forward to it. Merry Christmas
Re: DAK Order of Battle from 15. Panzer Division KTB
I'm afraid that OOB makes little sense. 3. and 7. Kp PR8 didn't join until late December 1941. At this stage the Oasenkompanien were no longer under the control of 15. PD (if indeed they ever were), and they were all lost on the surrender of Bardia and Halfaya, and removed from the OOB of Panzerarmee by late January.

The enemy had superiority in numbers, his tanks were more heavily armoured, they had larger calibre guns with nearly twice the effective range of ours, and their telescopes were superior. 5 RTR 19/11/41

Yes. I wonder what date it was compiled.

It makes little sense too in the context of an actual document found in a German Army KTB? Normally, an "order of battle" document there would be a Gliederung in the Anlage? Nor could that be what you found in the KTB, since I don't thing the Germans used Microsoft Word. I suspect it is your transcription of a document you found in the files of 15. Panzer Division, correct? If so, the original document may have clues as to date, its intent, and so forth. Do you have a copy of the original?

Yes I copy typed it - sorry I thought that was obvious. I will have a look at the original photos again but although they were filed amongst other pages from August 1941 there was no clue to date. I'll be back.

Re: DAK Order of Battle from 15. Panzer Division KTB
Update: I tried using postimages.com but the website was not fully functioning.
The original photographs I copy-typed the data from are: 0328.jpg - 0338.jpg within Microcopy T315 Roll 665 from the Nataional Archives of the USA.
0324.jpg is a diagramatic 15. Pz.Div OOB dated 26.3.41.
The placement of these photographs seems to not relate to August 1941 although they appear within photographs of August 1941 pages.

I can offer the 15. Panzer-Division Gliederung, 10 February 1941, with annotations of changes ordered up to at least 24.03.1941.This includes the 16.03.41 organization you mention.

Hi Leo
My diagram is Anlage 1 zu 15. Pz. Div. Nr 330/41 g.Kdos. Ia vom 26.3.41 with very little annotation. Would like to post it here for comparison - what method did you use to post the image? What size is this forum limited to?

Hi Clint,
Below the Quick Reply box there is the "Full Editor & Preview" button.
In this full editor there two registers below the text area named "Options" and "Attachments".
Click "Attachments" and below you get a message "If you wish to add one or more files ..."
Below that is a button with "Add files". Click on it and go to the location of your file(s).
Click on your file. You will then come back to this "Add files" button again.
[You can select "Place inline" if you want the image within the text you write. Otherwise ignore it. The images will then be displayed under the text.]
Either add another file, or go back to the text area and click the button "Preview" to see if this is what you wanted to upload.
If yes, click the "Submit" button. If not, you can either click the "Delete file", which removes the file you uploaded, or add more files.
I have not found a limit on image size. However, experience with other boards tells me that if the image is too large, you will be told that the image is too large by the forum. You must then reduce the size by making the reducing image's dimensions or decreasing the color depth, and try again.
You could instead use a file storage site, such as
https://www.file-upload.net/en/
But it's pretty much the same routine as above to upload files there.

The annotations go out to at least October 1941, so I'm wondering a bit about the dating of this document now.
