Tirpitz Book Volume Five

#1

Post by TimR » 13 Jan 2021, 18:26

The last book in the five-volume series on the battleship Tirpitz is available from www.bismarck-tirpitz.com. I placed an order for the book last November and the tracking process indicates it has been in Germany since 11/16/2020. I live in Oregon. The company has informed me to continue to be patient and blames COVID for the delay, but it has been two months...Has anyone else who purchased the book received it? Would there be any other vendors who are selling the book?

I haven't bought a copy yet but it still being in Germany is not surprising. A lot of mail has been badly delayed, one package to me took 3 weeks just to cross the Channel and a few items I have sent to Europe has done likewise as well as one package to the US taking 5 weeks. Covid is having an impact.

Not this particular book but I also had problems with book delivery from Germany. No intent to advise by any means, but I am asking for refund after a month. COVID or not, a month should be sufficient for any delivery

I've only sent one item to the US and that took ages to get there but the person who received it said it has been like that for a few things of late.

Many package deliveries from the UK and Europe are delayed due to Covid. Restrictions put in place by the EU are limiting how many and what size packages can be put on airplanes. You need to have patience - It is a global pandemic. I have had 1st class letter to Europe take 3 months or more. Not much you can do- just the way it is right now. Been that way for the last 9 months. I suggest you order only items that be shipped via Fedex or another independent package service.

Thanks. I ordered a book from the UK with DHL (rather than airmail) two days ago, will comment again to see how fast it comes to the US.

DHL and any other express delivery services work just fine, if you pay for expedited delivery of course

Good news for you. Who did you purchase the book from and to where was it shipped?

I ordered from Panzerwrecks UK (not the Tirpitz book though, sorry) with DHL, first class packaging too.
