Hi Max,
Those streamlined vans and buses never have had military status. Indeed, most of them went to the Reichspost and it was militarized but still not full military.
On your picture the number plate isn't visible but this "WH" on the fender suggest civilan registration. Fur sure this is ex-civilian van pressed into service.
