Re: Berghof Obersalzberg
Servus,

Servus,
it is certainly not bad, but there are still no concrete plans for how things will go with the Turk.
Bought it is also known that an old family from Berchtesgaden makes lederhosen.
Best regards from Bavaria Manuel

I'm sure that it is, but I want to double check. Are these two photos of Eva with her dogs?

Stasi and Negus?
Re: Berghof Obersalzberg
I have a vague memory that one of Eva's dogs was black and the other was white...I must be thinking of someone else...??
Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I’m pretty sure both those terriers were black. I seem to recall she owned some other kind of black/tan dog at one time called Bosko(?).

Re: Berghof Obersalzberg
Thanks all for the confirmation on the Eva/dogs photos. I seen them on the Souvenirs of War webpage. The one photo is a great face shot of the dogs. I read somewhere that after the dogs were left at the Berghof with staff, one of the dogs got away and ended up in Munich at Eva's other home. I'll see if I can find that source and post it.
Re: Berghof Obersalzberg
I think I read somewhere that one or both of the dogs were seen running around the Berghof/Obersalzberg area after the bombing in late April 1945. Maybe it/they were maybe adopted by a local, but who knows.
Re: Berghof Obersalzberg
Do I remember correctly that AH wasn't very fond of them?
Re: Berghof Obersalzberg
Yes, You're right, Hitler used to say, in a kinda humorous way i Guess, that they looked like floor mops. Eva on the other hand used to say that Blondi looked like a calf.
Don't know exactly where I read this, but probably in one of the many books about Eva and/or the "Berg".
Re: Berghof Obersalzberg
And I'm not sure where I read this but I recall Eva recording somewhere that she would occasionally kick Blondi and Hitler could never understand why the dog was skittish!
Re: Berghof Obersalzberg
The nickname "Stasi" was/is a short form for the female first name "Anastasia".
A search for the nickname "Negus" brings up different meanings...
"Negus/ Neguse Negest" ("The King of Kings") was one of the official titles of Haile Selassie I., former emperor of Ethiopia.
