Does anyone happen to know what is the highest resolution of the 'Kartei von Generalstabsoffiziere' (T78 R883-895) that is currently 'out there'?

I'm asking because I'm considering my options to get some good quality portrait shots. I realize I most likely will have to get the originals digitized in the actual archives, but if the microfilms (either existing or new scans) could work that might be more efficient (so my publisher can move ahead).

I saw some of these rolls weighting 12Gb each. But that didn't help with pictures of officer: the limiting factor wasn't digitization but the resolution of the actual microfilm.
