Konstanze Manziarly
Re: Konstanze Manziarly
Dame Margot Woelk, mostly unknown in this context, should also be mentioned.

Btw. The first name was "Constanze", not "Konstanze".
(These are the small differences, that always falsify history...)
* Nonsense is spread everywhere, hard to believe, even in this forum...
And why is the title of this thread not already corrected to the right first name "Constanze", is there no time left over
to handle this?

Innsbruck - Every little detail about Hitler is collected. Only his diet cook, who looked after the stomach-ailing dictator in the “Führerbunker”, did the research miss. Her name was even misspelled by the famous Hitler biographers, but she appeared in the film "Der Untergang" and was played by Bettina Redlich from Innsbruck.
“Constanze Manziarly was only a minor character in the 'big' story, but I still find it astonishing that so far there has only been poor, sometimes incorrect information about her,” says Stefan Dietrich. The Tyrolean historian was able to win Manziarly's sister, who provided the original letters, for talks and put an end to the half-truths. He published his research in the essay “Nobody feels that politics goes through the stomach as I do”. The media response was great: In addition to the German news magazines Der Spiegel and Focus, even the British Sun was worth a headline for the story of Hitler's cook.
Constanze Manziarly was born on April 14, 1920 in Innsbruck. Her family's roots lead to Romania and Vienna. She grew up with her sister Susanne in a middle-class and culturally interested environment, which placed value on the education of the girls. Her mother Anna was a pianist. Constanze, who played the piano excellently, was named after Mozart's wife. "That supposedly impressed her future boss Adolf Hitler," said Dietrich.
Susanne describes her sister Constanze as calm, ambitious, conscientious, interested and well-read. In 1943, she was issued a teaching certificate. Interested in a healthy lifestyle, she completed an internship in a private clinic in Berchtesgaden. The Kurheim Zabel commissioned the intern to deliver food to Hitler's Berghof. This was followed by an offer “that she could not refuse,” as Dietrich said of the TT. She was neither a Nazi nor an opponent, but submitted to the authorities like thousands in her generation. Her father fought for her from Tyrol. In letters to the state school board, he asked them to assert the importance of Constanze for the maintenance of schools in Tyrol in Berlin - in vain.
Although Constanze encrypted her letters because of the censorship, a lot can be read out. The job was tough. She also felt the shortcomings in the war. So she asked her sister for an apron. On October 29, 1944, she wrote: “In my work I have had many crises lately. Nobody feels that politics go through the stomach like I do. "
The last letter is dated December 14, 1944. On April 30, Manziarly cooked Hitler's last lunch, a pasta dish with tomato sauce. Shortly afterwards, the dictator shot himself. Manziarly fled the bunker with the secretary Traudl Junge. Junge watched as Manziarly was taken away by Russian soldiers.
“For me, the tragic fate of Constanze Manziarly is personally moving. The fact that she was missing at the end of the war kept her family busy and stressed for decades, ”says Dietrich. One reason the release had to wait.

Re: Konstanze Manziarly
Any idea how did she become Hitler's chef ?

Re: Konstanze Manziarly
Constanze Manziarly had not applied for service at Hitler's legendary Berghof, as one might think. She came to this job by what she thought was an unfortunate accident. Because Hitler, who had been a vegetarian since the early 1930s, was looking for a new cook in the spring of 1944 to be responsible for his diet cuisine. The Fuehrer suffered from stomach problems, which got worse the worse it was for the Wehrmacht on the fronts of the Second World War. And in the spring of 1944 things were already very bad. Anyone who didn't kid themselves could not fail to see that the war was lost.DavidFrankenberg wrote: ↑17 May 2021, 01:21Any idea how did she become Hitler's chef ?

In the midst of this situation, Hitler hit another blow. Because at the beginning of 1944 he was forced to part with his first diet cook, Marlene von Exner. He was very satisfied with her cooking skills and the woman seemed to have been politically in line too, because at the beginning of 1944 she was planning to marry an SS man from Hitler's entourage. For this she needed the “Aryan pass”, which certified that she had no “Jewish blood” in her veins.
But in the course of this check it turned out that the parentage of her grandmother was questionable, so that Exner might have just this "Jewish blood". From that moment it was clear that Hitler would no longer be able to let Marlene Exner cook for him. He reportedly dismissed her with regret.
A replacement was needed. At that time Constanze Manziarly was working in Werner Zabel's sanatorium near Berchtesgaden, i.e. in the immediate vicinity of the Berghof. Zabel tried to be close to Hitler, but was eyed suspiciously by his personal physician Theodor Morell. After Exner's departure, Hitler's secretary Martin Bormann had the diet food cooked for his boss in the health resort and then drove up to the Berghof.
Constanze Manziarly was doing a six-month internship at Zabel at this time. She trained as a teacher at a home economics school and had also discovered her penchant for cooking. Her boss selected her to take the meal to the Berghof and prepare it there. So fate took its course.

Re: Konstanze Manziarly
Thanks Helge.
So, Bormann asked Zabel's sanatorium to make food for H since Exner was fired ? Hitler appreciated the meal, so she was hired ?
It sounds plausible to me.
But take a look at this, looks like Marlene von Exner herself found her sustitute.
