Nz 341 Batterie Koralle - Mindin

Hello

It does not seems like there are any remains of Batterie Koralle Nz 341 at Mindin.

This battery with the 6./Marine Flak Abteilung 809 was the only battery that received the 12,8 cm. Flak 40 within the M.Fl. A. 809, they also had the most modern equipment included the "Hazemeier" firingcalculator.

There also were some rather special bunkers in that position as well - anything on them?

Does any of you have pictures or other information regarding this particular battery or other batteries with 12,8 cm. guns in St. Nazaire area?

Regards
Kurt

Oh yes, there is more info.
see http://www.bunkersite.com
- France
- St Nazaire
- Airdefence
- Datasheet on all Flak here,
At Koralle, Le Nez, we only show the Fl 317.
There are at least four gunemplacements type Fl 307,
two of them have been found.
sorry, these are not our pictures, so no sharing
on my side ..

Hello

Lenco - thanks for the info (I did not check that)

Jos - thanks for the PM - with additional informations, very interesting.

I find the deployment of Schwere Flak 12,8 cm. Flak 40 very interesting, not only in coastal flakbatteries but also regarding flaktowers etc. - these heavy guns are very rarely seen on pictures from actual operational sites - so if any one have further pictures of them in action / installed in positions they would be very welcome 8O

There are several pictures of the guns itself, both pictures and drawings in books etc. - but not installed and in actual field service!!!

Regards
Kurt

Hello all,

Does anybody know of cable bunker within this area? According to some French sources, there should be a Kabelbrunnen built here.
All help is welcome.

Rgds,
Robin

Hello,
According to the book from Luc Braeuer "Forteresse Saint-Nazaire" (2002), 2 cable pits were there :

Hello

This must then be the "Muni-bunker" and one of the 12,8 niches, right?

The cablepit between the emplacements was for the power and measurementdata from the Leitstand, probably just a simple concrete pit. The other one looks like a 'official' KSB from the Festungskabelnetz.
