Re: Id. warship
HMS Codrington, perhaps. Obviously they don't want to show off the torpedo tube mounts. One might be tempted to ID as HMS Inglefield, but she wasn't completed until March 1937. Codrington was completed Jun 1930. 5 @ 4.7 in single mounts, 8 @ 21 in torpedoes in two quad mounts.

Not Codrington but Exmouth, leader of the 5th DF.Sturm78 wrote: ↑08 Jul 2021, 22:41Thank you very much for your answer, R. LeonardR Leonard wrote

Far from there being no distinguishing markings she carries the 4 foot black top to her fore funnel marking her as the flotilla leader (and carries 5x4.7" guns instead of four) and also a white band on her after funnel to denote a destroyer flotilla of the Home Fleet (destroyer flotillas in the Med had red bands). A single white band indicates the 5th DF.
The 5th DF, while normally a Home Fleet flotilla, deployed to the Med during the Abyssinian crisis between 8/35 and 3/36. Then during the Spanish Civil War Home Fleet flotillas took part in non-intervention patrols. Exmouth took part in these operations between 9-11/36 off the Biscay ports and then 1-3/37 and 10/37-1/38 off the Med ports.
Codrington was leader of the 3rd DF in the Med until June 1937 comprising the A class destroyers. They were superceded by the I class in 1937. Codrington carried three red bands on her after funnel as did Inglefield which succeeded her as leader of the flotilla.
Re: Id. warship
I stand corrected. Good thing I said "perhaps."

Re: Id. warship
It is a Leander class all right. Problem is which one. If the photo was taken in 1934 it is either Leander, Orion, Neptune or Achilles as Ajax didn’t complete until 1935. Unfortunately I can’t help with their pre-war movements.

Re: Id. warship
Judging by ship badge I think it’s HMS Howe.
