Hi, everyone! I am new in the world of archives, and wanted to ask if there is any possibility of accessing the following documents, which I found quoted in United States Army in World War II.: Global Logistics and Strategy, 1943-1945, page 336, note 36:
(1) Memo by SCAEF, 18 Feb 44, sub: Assault Shpg and Cft for Overlord.
(2) Memo, Gen Smith for SCAEF, 18 Feb 44, sub: Reasssessment of Assault Shpg...
Both in OPD 560 Security, III, Case 125, according to the same note. Is it possible to access these documents, and how? Please, pardon my ignorance, and thank you very much.
Best regards.

Re: Access to a document
The authors give direct reference to the document without the NARA classification, so it's not a direct link where to find them. OPD stands for Operation Division of the War Department, filed under RG165 at NARA. You should look into the catalog and see whether you can spot where the documents are: https://www.bsb-muenchen.de/mikro/lit1671.pdf
I am not aware of a digital copy on the web, but I am no specialist of such documents. Therefore, getting them is going to NARA or ordering the relevant microfilm. Whenever NARA resumes operations.

Thank you very much. It seems not to be in the catalog. I will contact NARA.Mori wrote: ↑11 Jul 2021, 21:00The authors give direct reference to the document without the NARA classification, so it's not a direct link where to find them. You might search C.A.R.L. https://usacac.army.mil/organizations/cace/carl Just don't starve to death once you get in there. Tired of wives blaming me because they never see their guy any more.
