Vehicle identity requests
Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Sturm 78,
a very interesting pic. Thanks for posting. You are right, it is a "Burglöwe". It is the type 30. Such trucks were used by the "Technische Nothilfe". This truck was obviously used by the Police forces.
Here a pic of such a truck (source: "Das Lastwagen-Album Büssing" by Bernd Regenberg).
Best regards
Bert

Re: Vehicle identity requests
As far as I know, the Typ 30 designation was carried by trucks from 1932, from 1934 - Typ 300D, and from 1935 - Typ 300 Burglöwe. It is also written in Holger and this is confirmed by the radiator grill in the photo. Only with such a radiator grill, Büssing-NAG trucks of this class were named Burglöwe.

I never heard of the Technische Nothilfe organization, thanks for bringing it to my attention. Do you have any other photos of their vehicles?
Cheers,

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Max,
thanks for You reply. First I have to correct my last reply:
first to the ID: it is a Büssing-NAG type Burglöwe 30 L“ because of the longer wheelbase.
Second to the license plate: the „Technische Nothilfe“ was subordinated to the Ministry of the Interior and so to the police. So all their vehicles had a license plate with the letters „Pol“.
First the TN (Technische Nothilfe) had different, not specialized vehicles. Searching a suitable vehicle for the TN they found a vehicle on the International Motor Show in Berlin 1937: a Büssing Burglöwe type 25 L, but the payload of this type was too small (2,5 tons). So the TN got the big brother of this vehicle, the type 30 L. It was a vehicle with a special superstructure, a dark green painting of the superstructure like the police vehicles, but with a silver strip (about 30 cm) on the side walls and a large national eagle on both doors. The truck could carry 20 men (including driver), all the material and a bycicle.
On the first pic: "motorisierter Bereitschaftszug" (motorized emergency unit), existing out of one leader, two squad leaders, three drivers, 18 men with one car (leader and three men) and one truck (20 men including the driver).
On the third pic: the truck from the back with the spare wheel, the bycicle and the getting in on the side.

Here two more pics of the TN:
First pic: a training of the TN in Berlin with an overturned double-decker bus (You can see the Büssing truck in the background).
Second pic: another vehicle of the TN: a Steyr type 640.

Hi Bert,
Thanks very much for the background information on the Technische Nothilfe and the excellent photos. You have just increased my knowledge of this organization by 100% .

Hi Uncle, I believe it is an Adler Trumpf Junior, similar to the one in this photo.

Re: Vehicle identity requests
Hi Max, I should probably have posted this shot instead, which shows the broader strip on the radiator grille that some of the models have.
