Karl, collecting is always related to family, friends, neighborhood, never the senseless accumulation of artifacts without a personal connection.
Whether someone may be interested in a uniform, an award, whatever, in later years, I don't care.
The many conversations, especially about the old photos, with the still formerly living contemporary witnesses, that was always the salt in the historical soup.
When I was young, I thought differently, not anymore, my clock is ticking....
