Hello Br, it’s not particularly well-written. The author chose to tell the story as a series of conversations between the various individuals involved. Nevertheless, NS Germany, Cold War Germany, Gudrun Himmler - all the elements are there. Without giving anything away, the missing statues were virtually hiding in plain site for decades.

I agree. I'm glad the book exists as the content is definitely interesting, but I found his writing style to be a quite glib and sensationalist in places.Ecam wrote: ↑11 Nov 2021, 14:51Hello Br, it’s not particularly well-written. You're both correct. I've read it, as well, and while pretty interesting, it was somewhat written in the style of a thriller...then sort of petered out towards the end.CPB wrote: ↑12 Nov 2021, 12:24I agree. The german designation "thorak pferde reichskanzlei" leads to hundreds of links on the Internet, perhaps this video of the German TV station MDR is interesting:
Auf der Jagd nach Hitlers Bronzepferden / In pursuit of Hitler's bronze horses
Link to the german documentary: https://www.mdr.de/video/mdr-videos/rep ... n-100.html (30 minutes)
Probably also available on YouTube... ?

Re: Reichskanzlei Thread
Thank you Hans for the links. I suspect the ideal location will be the “Deutsches Historisches Museum” in Berlin. If you hear something about exhibiting them, that would be much appreciated information.
Tschüss,
