Low German help please

Imperator is a ship. A Low German speaking stoker is reporting to a High German speaking senior officer. He is exasperated and blurts out why he did not deliver the exercise damage report note. As follows his dialogue in LG.

Bi us up’n Imperator häb we son Tüch mit Tickets bi ,Schotten dicht', nich mookt!

Thanks. I am glad I asked as I had it as:
On the Imperator we had secure bulkheads and did not have ???? or leaks!
Thanks again.

Hi Guys,

in High German it means:

Bei uns auf der Imperator haben wir so ein Zeug mit Tickets bei "Schotten dicht" nicht gemacht..

I would roughly translate it in English:

We on the Imperator did not bother about paper forms when "Bulkhead tight" was ordered.

Best regards

Armin was very right with his translation,

"...there was no order to close the bulkheads tightly..."

Plattdüütsch un Engelsch - en Vergliek (Plattdeutsch und Englisch - ein Vergleich)

:D

Our linguistic differences are marginal, nothing more.
Whoever understands and speaks Low German will never have a problem understanding in English-speaking countries, the common rest is written by our common history...

Whoever has grown up with these dialects and languages even rudimentarily, will be able to exchange himself everywhere, the rest will follow by itself...

The Heliand, a Jesus story from around 830 in old high German. How many words can you find in English still today.
