Light relief: A photographic, bare-chested, Mussolini-Putin gun-off.

Both Mussolini and Putin liked to play strong men by posing for bare-chested photos:

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Musso ... mR2CE95kYM

They also both subordinated their countries to more powerful dictatorships - Mussolini to Nazi Germany and Putin to Neo-Communist China. The unprovoked war with Ukraine may be Putin's equivalent of Mussolini's Greek Campaign - he may win, but his prestige and that of his country and armed forces will be lastingly damaged.

Cheers,

Sid

It would be interesting to discuss Mussolini's bare chest and Putin's, if Italy had inexhaustible reserves of natural gas and oil, and if, say, a gas pipeline and an oil pipeline passed through Greece from Italy to Turkey, and if, after the invasion of Greece, Mussolini drove gas and oil to Turkey in ever-increasing volumes through these the pipelines and Italy would pay Greece for transit daily in hard currency.
If such a situation was in the case of Italy's invasion of Greece, then it was interesting to compare Mussolini's bare chest and Putin's bare Chest. And since we do not have such a situation today, these are empty words.
By the way, the volume of payments for the transit of gas and oil that Russia transfers to Ukraine every day is greater than the so-called amount of Western aid to this very Ukraine. And take into account that Russia pays Ukraine in hard currency, without binding it with any conditions. On the other hand, the so-called Western aid is loans to pay for Western weapons, usually unusable.

And here's what's interesting. A hypersonic missile "Kinzhal/Dagger" pierced a bunker built back in the Soviet Union times at a depth of 60 meters with a reinforced concrete shell capable of withstanding a direct impact of a thermonuclear charge with a capacity of 1 megaton. But the thread of the gas pipeline, deepened into the ground by only 2.5 meters and without a protective shell, and four gas pumping stations for four weeks of hostilities has not a single damage, not even a single scratch.

So what you are saying is that Putin is actually giving every day huge sums of money (and in hard currency, no less) to the same Ukrainian government he said was a bunch of nazis, and he is provinding money to pay those same mercenaries and nazi battalions that are currently killing his own Russian soldiers. Wow, Putin is the greatest patriot Russia has ever produced, no doubt about that. What can go wrong with a supreme leader like that one?

Hi Yuri,

Lighten up. Mussolini and Putin are both malevolent, bare-chested, nationalist posturers who over reached themselves and damaged their respective countries' civil and military reputations.

I suspect Putin will win his war if nobody else intervenes, but whatever happens Russia has already emerged from it a diminished power more dependent on China than ever.

One hypersonic missile (if such it was, because this is as yet just a Russian claim) doesn't win wars. Boots on the ground do and Russia's boots on the ground ("Orcs" as the Ukrainians call them) are not currently performing very well. The start of Putin's war in Ukraine is a debacle similar to that of Mussolini initially in Greece and for similar reasons - an assumption the opposition was divided and would crumble, an over-high opinion of one's own armed forces and the consequent launch of an initial invasion force that was too weak to achieve its objectives.

Cheers,

Sid.

P.S. Where are all the Armata tanks?

To compare short men like Mussolini and Putin makes no sense.

Small men tend, and always have tended, to exaggerate to distract from their physical inferiority.
History, old and new, gives dozens of examples, Alexander the Great, Napoleon, Stalin, Kim, and last but not least the pathetic dwarf named Putin.

Look at the photos of Putin in the circle of his classmates, the dwarf among giants...
The inferiority complex of short men often led to such careers.
Too much bullying at a young age inevitably leads to a thirst for revenge, to get back at "them" and that's exactly what is happening right now.

The Russian midget is finally able to show everyone exactly what drives this little scumbag, and with that he's already sealed his own demise, most certainly.

There is a German saying:
"When shit becomes something, nothing good comes of it!"

Very true!

Little men and friends in our circle have always been extremely searching and aggressive people.

The highest heels under the shoes, the loudest voice in any discussion, the fattest street cars, and the most beautiful women ever.
We physically bigger guys were more relaxed, a lot of fuss about nothing wasn't our thing.
And the more relaxed we were, the more exactly that irritated the short men, to the point of white heat, I remember all that very well...

For us a Camaro, or a Corvette, then the little man bought a Lincoln Continental Coupe, we drove a Mercedes 300, then it had to b a Bentley, and so on, an endless spiral...
Different values, different times, not good, you distinguished yourself by what you represented, not by what you really were.

Small minds all, full of inferiority complexes, and this spiral went on for many decades...

Out and over!

Dear Sid, there are too many words.
And as you know, verbosity is a clear sign of a desire to drown the problem in empty words. Whereas the problem is solved very simply, namely.
Immediately stop receiving natural gas, oil, coal, uranium, titanium, nickel and all other gifts of Mother nature from the terrible dwarf with a bare torso, which the dwarf with a bare torso sells to you in incredibly huge volumes.
However, for some reason you do not do this, you continue to pay the dwarf with a bare torso dollars, pounds of strelings, euros and other so pleasantly crisp banknotes in your hands.
What is the problem? There are no obstacles to perform this simple action. - refuse to receive gifts of nature from the hand of a bare-chested dwarf and stop deducting currency to him. Moreover, you now have a legitimate reason to refuse what a midget with a bare torso is selling you, because this imitator of Mussolini had the audacity to say that he did not want to receive these dollars, euros and pounds sterling from you, now he wants as much as possible native rubles.

Dear Sid, I made inquiries and found out from this source that the Armata tank stalled at the dress rehearsal of the Victory Parade, held back on May 7, 2015, and stood there until the end of the rehearsal. Were able to start the engine of the Armata tank or tow it on a trailer, I do not know yet, but as soon as I find out, I will immediately inform you without fail.

Hi Yuri,

Now, I can agree with, "Immediately stop receiving natural gas, oil, coal, uranium, titanium, nickel and all other gifts of Mother nature from the terrible dwarf with a bare torso, which the dwarf with a bare torso sells to you in incredibly huge volumes.

You are absolutely right. The EU countries that have made themselves over dependent on Russian gas and oil should be prpared to make this sacrifice. They are paying for Putin's unprovoked war of aggression in real time.

However, this is a WWII site and I am more interested in the similar bare-chested posturing of Mussolini and Putin and any equivalency between their military debacles in Greece and Ukraine.

Cheers,

Sid.

Hello Sid.

It is much more complex than that. Europe depended on Russian gas import and Russia depended on the very same export. Also Ukraine depended on transit fees, so everyone depends on everyone. One could say that Russia financed the Ukranian weapons used to kill its own soldiers, but it would make equally no sense as saying that Europe pays for Russia's war.

Actually, Ukraine doesn't buy natural gas from Russia but from Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland.
It's still mostly Russian natural gas but in this case, Russia can't deny it to Ukraine without denying it to Europe.

It seems the bare-chested Mussolini photos mostly came from a skiing event where for some reason men were skiing bare-chested and from his vacations.
His behavior was consistent with his impulsive nature, it wasn't part of a (creepy and cynical) media campaign as in the case of Putin.
And Mussolini was a man of achievement, as a soldier, a socialist leader, a fascist leader.
When Putin basically runs Russia to the ground and from day one.

Hi wm,

Actually, looking through all the various photos of Mussolini bare chested, only a minority seem to come from a skiing event. Of the latter, only one shows anyone else bare chested, and they might be emulating Mussolini for all we know.

Cheers,

Sid.

Mussolini, Obama, Sarkozy and a bunch of other Western leaders really like to pose with a naked torso.

And I have repeatedly said that Putin is ultra-liberal in economics and ultra-Westernist in politics. Therefore, Putin, imitating Western politicians in their predilection for being photographed with a bare torso, also presented his bare chest to the whole world, taking into account the Russian specifics, of course.

I noticed a curious fact. As soon as photos of Putin with a naked torso appeared, the naked torsos of Western politicians disappeared from magazine covers.
Can anyone tell me why?

Putin is extremely pro-Western, he strives to imitate Western leaders in everything, literally in everything.
Here, for example, married life.

So, Clinton (the one who was Bill and who was the owner of the White House) got bored of having sex with his wife Hillary, and Bill without thinking twice got himself a mistress named Monica and last name Lewinsky, with whom he had fun in the Oval Office.

It's not worth talking about the presidents of the Fifth Republic, they have their own mistress for everyday of the week.
SarkkozyAnd1(640).jpg

Putin looked at his Western colleagues and thought, the worse they I are, I also want the same as my Western counterparts and began to have fun in the Kremlin with Alina Kabaeva.
PutinAndKobaeva(800).jpg
In the next post we will talk about how completely ultra liberal in the economy and ultra pro-Western in politics Putin imitates his Western partners in their predilection to bomb other countries, invade them, wipe cities and villages from the face of the earth, kill civilians, as well as hang and brutally kill unwanted leaders of these countries.

Wow, it seems that someone here is taking this personally!
So is the conclusion that Putin is a cheap copy of some cheap Western politicians?
We have an expression in Spanish: "Culo veo, culo quiero". Fits nicely to Putin's personality, per Yuri's explanation.
