Is this an armoured "jammer" system? Reported as being an "R-330BMV Borisoglebsk-2B"?

I suppose the idea is to be prepared for the nuclear battlefield not merely being armored.

Well, it seems all the nice toys didn't help much in Afghanistan, the partisans died in great numbers but they still won.
One wonders what they could have achieved with modern weapons - mass supplied by a sugar daddy, e.g., the West.
How many M1A1 tanks used in Afghanistan again? How many IFV's? you might as well ask how many M26 Pershings were parachuted into Normandy as it makes the same nonsensical idea.

OEF was a predominantly light fight. Canada used some Leopard tanks there
So would M1A1 tanks and IFVs win the war in Afghanistan for the US?
It somewhat seems unlikely.

Borisoglebsk-2V has implemented on the ML-TBu tracked axle:
the R-330KMB control station
R-330KMW.jpg
and three types of jammers with the BMW index (330/378/945).
R-330BMW..jpg
R-378BMW.jpg
R-934BMW.jpg
And it's not them.

The remaining five movable units of the Borisoglebsk-2 on wheel are wheeled.
R-330 Borisoglebsk-2V Ohne.jpg
Thus it turns out. what is it:
- or not from Borisoglebske-2B;
- or one of the parts of the Borisoglebsk-2B complex will be transferred from wheeled to tracked after 2020.
I would assume that this is a battalion or regimental level communication station.

Hi, Tom
Please accept my apologies.
My assumptions regarding the fact that this is a battalion/regimental-level communication station are not correct.

I searched for a video from the developer of Borisoglebsk-2 TNIIR (Electronic Warfare) "ETHER" (Tambov Research Institute of Radio Electronics / Radio-Electronic Warfare/) and that's what I saw there.
https://youtu.be/RpYZwrnOMaU?t=26
Thus, this machine belongs to some kind of electronic warfare complex, but not Borisoglebsk-2. It follows from the text that there is a workshop in this institute. in which prototypes of equipment are manufactured in very small quantities. Perhaps in our case it is such a prototype. In general, I will search as soon as I find it, I will inform you.

Mariupol is in its final stage, lots of clips on telegram/RT/Chechen social media of the urban fighting and armor.

In these clips I see individual or pairs of tanks firing at targets. I see them withdrawing quickly too. Also 1-2 IFV being used as a time, in one clip it is used to shield/support advancing Chechen infantry.

@Tom from Cornwall

Hi, Tom.
I have collected some interesting information about the system that is in the photo in your last post.
A little more and we will all know about it, there are modifications.

Ukrainian side apparently made a helicopter raid to Mariupol.

A Russian resource (https://t.me/s/RVvoenkor) has presented the following claims:
-On the morning of 31 March two Ukrainian helicopters were shot down near Mariupol.
-One shot down Mi-8 had 17 persons onboard. 15 died, 2 survived - a member of "Azov" and an officer of Ukrainian military intelligence.
-The officer said during interrogation: 4 helicopters Mi-8 escorted by 1 Mi-24 took off from Dnipro. Landed at the port of Mariupol. Unloaded possibly ammunition. Took wounded onboard. After leaving Mariupol his chopper was hit by Stinger missile. He survived because was near the door (behind a machine gun).

Not sure if I'm not mistaken but thus far there seems to be visual confirmation presented of only one destroyed helicopter.

Various formations have/or are in the process of pulling out from the Northern front and will be either sent back to Russia to either re-deploy to the Donbass or refit (The Russian brigades that the BTG is withdrawn from have 2 additional battalions of equipment)/rest. There should also be 2 fresh naval inf brigades in reserve and 1 viable one (the one which entered the Mariupol fighting late). The Russians in the Northern front have been converting their positions into fortified regions for a while now.

I am anticipating an offensive operation to clear the Donbass. Unlike the failed/politicized "coup de main/shock and awe) they attempted in the first two weeks there is a possibility that this could actually be a properly planned and executed "Deep operation".

The problem with this is that the Russians themselves have pretty much declared that they will do that and everybody are waiting this to happen. From the Russian point of view it would be reasonable at least to try to hide their plans, at least to create uncertainty among the adversary's leadership. Either the Russians have abandoned the very basics of maskirovka or they actually plan something else.

I think after they failed in their politicized Coup de main/shock and awe move they did the usual Soviet thing and performed attacks on all directions, while focusing the main effort on the Donbass and the advance from the south.

They have been attacking south of Izyum for several days and are currently blocked by Ukr forces. Yesterday there was no serious activity.

There's no other real option but to clear the pocket in the Donbass- which is what they are close to anyway?

Some rainy weather moving east across Ukraine these next few days. Belarus maybe worse. Could be muddy.

I would concentrate on Russian infantry vehicles and SP artillery at this point. Demoralize and destroy.

My thoughts about future warfare is that 'combined arms' will take on a whole new scheme.

The salient. After this territory is taken perhaps peace negotiations will progress.
