Rommel - inspecting the Atlantikwall.
Re: Rommel - inspecting the Atlantikwall.
Hello
Ok fair enough, I am also in doubt
This inspection was from monday the 20th of december until 24th of december 1943 so other officers and generals are in question here, and the above mentioned Generalleutnanten Gerke, Meise and Gause was present on the whole inspection.

Re: Rommel - inspecting the Atlantikwall.
Hello
One more, same source, same time period PK Photo 7-1-1944, so from an event before that date.
Rommel and Gause are obvious, but any chance for the others and an place and time?

Re: Rommel - inspecting the Atlantikwall.
Hello
At 20 and 24 december 1943 Rommels had the inspection also mentioned about the former picture, from 22 to 23 december Rommel was in Montreuil at the HQ of 191 Res. Div. under the command of Generalleutnant Siegfried Macholz. The 23 december Rommel had an inspection at K.V.A. D - and Macholz was there with his Chief of Staff Oberstleutnant von Stockhausen (maybe the man between Rommel and Macholz?).
I am now pretty sure that we have this inspection between 20 - 24 december 1943 and that both Gen.Lt. Fürst (first picture) and Gen.Lt. Macholz are the persons we see with generals rank. Rommel was both at the HQ of 191 Res. Div. and 171 Res. Div. so both Fürst and Macholz were present in that timeframe, as was Gause, Gerke and Meise - so all fits perfect
The two officers behind Rommel in the last photo - any idea ??

Kurt

Re: Rommel - inspecting the Atlantikwall.
I always thought this was an outstanding photograph. Any thoughts as to the location?
Re: Rommel - inspecting the Atlantikwall.
Hello
For Graveland, the picture with the "map reading" above!
I think it is from Canteleu meeting 30. march 1944 and present were:
General d. Pz. Tp. Kuntzen (in my opinion the bald gentlemen in the middle)
Gen.Lt. Hoffmann, Stabs Chef AOK 15
Gen.Mj. Wilhelm Richter (in my opinion the gentleman to the right)
Gen.Lt. Dietrich Kraiss
Gen.Mj. Rudolf Stegmann
So in the picture from left to right:
Unknown behind Rommel
Unknown behind Rommel
Unknown behind Rommel
Rommel
Kuntzen
Unknown behind Kuntzen
Wilhelm Richter
What do you think?
