Re: Help Id these heavy coastal guns
Thank you very much Guy. Do we know if these guns were decommissioned before the start of World War Two or if they had continued to serve during the war?
Best regards,
Nezar

Hi,
according to Gerd Wildfang "Militärische Bauten der Festung Cuxhaven ab 1870" was the first shooting of these guns in march 1893 (!!). Their range were 17.500m.
After WW 1 the guns were okay for the IMKK.
1931 the Marinekommandoamt wrote, that the 7 guns are now Reserve and they stored in Pillau.
Some times before WW 2 there was built a small Flaktower on one of the Bettungen for 30,cm K.
Regards Oliver

Re: Help Id these heavy coastal guns
Thanks for your informations, Oliver and Guy.
I guess a Krupp gun model. I am not sure if in 1890s the coastal and naval guns were named with a year number model ot not...

From the loading device and the tracks around the rear I would say this is one of the 280 MM Kst.K.L45 in Verschwind-L disappearing guns of Diech battery at Schilling.

Nobody for my last image ?
Well here another image from Ebay. A old German coastal gun. According to photo caption, an 30.5cm gun in Cuxhaven.
Any idea about the exact model of the gun and batterie ?

According to the Allied Armistice Commission report these guns were no longer present by 1928.

Very interesting photos. But the photo from Sturm78 is a gun at usual carriage with high ammunition lift to the service platform. Disappearing gun was loaded at the bottom level.ROLAND1369 wrote: ↑20 Apr 2022 16:38From the loading device and the tracks around the rear I would say this is one of the 280 MM Kst.K.L45 in Verschwind-L disappearing guns of Diech battery at Schilling.
