I believe that in Internet there is a Guide to Nara rolls, and maybe some of the guys above can send it to You. All I know is that all T77 rolls list HPA-Offizierenpersonalveränderungen from 1939 to 1943 and all T78 rolls list mainly Offizierenkarteikarten (aus Infanterie, Pz.Truppen, Pz.Grenadieren, Kav./Aufklärung, etc., but no Artillerie)

Hello
here is a link to the catalogue: http://www.digitalhistoryarchive.com/re ... urces.html
You can search the parts with a PDF program, so it will be easier to find something
A second link, but here some series are missing:

Here you find some T77: http://wwiidigitalarchives.org/t77-okw
Edit:
I have check the catalog: T77 R438+783+869
All three rolls are not freely available, must be ordered from the nara

Re: The New 'Free NARA Rolls' List
Hello rolls experts
I refer to the link (T77.....) given by UlrichH.
Will somebody kindly tell me what (which themas/contents) there is in each of the rolls T77 ?
R61, R444, R788, R839, R855, R883, R885, R895, R1086-88, R1091-92, R1096-97
The guides are too damn complicated for me (too bad that the rolls have no titles/references..)
Thanks for Your time + patience

Am I reading right that you are just asking someone to read the content, then tell what's inside, instead of doing it yourself...?Rossano wrote: ↑24 Apr 2022 08:58Will somebody kindly tell me what (which themas/contents) there is in each of the rolls T77 ?

Thanks for the laughters, I thought that You knew and would give me the requested Info, but evidently I asked too much (well to know......).
P.S.: I briefly looked at the guide but I didn´t find them, so I gave up.

Re: The New 'Free NARA Rolls' List
Hello Jeff,
I am new to this Forum and truly don't have the slightest idea of where to begin to look for information, though I'm sure it's probably quite simple for you. I am looking for the action reports for the German army outside Aachen, the 13th of December, 1944. My father saw his first combat that day as a member of the 78th Infantry Division, United States Army. The unit history records:
"Southeast of Lammersdorf, on the main roads leading into Simmerath, the 1st and 3rd Battalions of the 309th were experiencing their H-hour. The 1st Battalion, led by Company A, moved along the northern road to Simmerath for seven hundred yards without incident. Then mines exploded, men fell and the enemy let loose everything he had."
I would like to acquire the reports from the German side of the fighting. I don't have the slightest idea which German army group he encountered, strength or anything else. That is what I would like to learn.
Thank you very much for your time and assistance.

Re: The New 'Free NARA Rolls' List
As a general rule, field command records (division, corps, army) for the German army do not exist for periods past July 1944 (they burned the records, or we bombed in April 1945). From memory, Aachen was the area controlled by the German LXXXI corps, which does have some material available for the time, but I think the US 78th div was a bit further south.
I have a few bits and pieces of records for the 78th division, so PM me if you want me to send them.
