The large couch facing the fireplace does not seem to be too comfortable.
Poor photo from the book "Hitler's Berghof".

(Hey, who designed this place anyway!) :D
Have you noticed that Hitler is always sitting on the same armchair? The second on the right facing and counting from the fireplace

So we conclude that it was Hitler's personal armchair?

For sure its favorite. We can understand a lot of a person via his habits, don't you think?

I found some interesting photos from the reconstruction of Haus Wachenfeld to Berghof. Slide over to enlarge. https://www.alexautographs.com/auction- ... E14D1C9CE/

For folks who are interested, here is a tile from the Sofie Stork kachelofen/heater in the Berghof's living room/stube. Being square-shaped, I believe it is from the top section – just out of sight.

It was removed from the building by a member of the Dutch SAS sometime after the war. The veteran encased it in a wooden frame and plaster of Paris, both of which have now been removed. Interesting to see 'hack' marks around the rim of the tile, where it was prized out of the stove.

I recall some years ago, 1989 when I used to correspond with Traudl Junge, she had added her story to a book called Last Witnesses In The Bunker. ...much earlier than the later 'Blind Spot' and Untergang.
She said to me when I eventually visited her in Munich that she regretted her contribution and that no one would be interested in the Führers domestic habits.

She regretted being a Secretary?.. (well AH's Secretary).

I would think that many people would just ask her if they had a change, like: " Did Hitler tell you how the Jews were Exterminated", or some such?
.
and that no one would be interested in the Führers domestic habits.
Well we seemingly are interested in Hitler's domestic life.

No she didn't regret being his secretary....just thought her book contribution had little value.
Traudl like her colleagues and Inner Circle friends always maintained that jews were never a topic of conversation during the time she was with him.

In fact the only one who did mention the ubject. Witnessing of the deportation of Dutch Jews to the Führer, Henni von Schirach, was immediately dismissed from the Berghof by AH, along with her husband Baldur.

Okay thanks for the reply. Yes of course Hitler did not speak about the killing of the Jews to his Staff, why would he have?

Both the passages contained in The Last Witnesses (a compendium of testimonies collected by Judge Michael Musmanno), and in his book written with Melissa Muller, Until the Final Hour, Traudl Junge's recollections about the customs of AH are very interesting! With a lot of information about the inner life of the circle, of the Berghof, I think they are essential readings to understand the behavior of the dictator.

It is said that in reply to Henni von Schirach the Führer said "when thousands of fine German soldiers are killed each week in battle, and the criminal jews are safely out of it then the balance of nature must be taken in hand.
