The pic was about Allied usage of bridges built by Allies, but is this a German panzer?

Not, it's a M4 Sherman tank....

A Firefly with a 'fake' muzzle-brake halfway along the gun barrel.

Check the running gear and the track chevrons. No doubt it is an M4 and it appears there are 'bars' sticking out from some the track-pin holes

Google "Sherman tank with track extension" and more information might turn up.

It looks more like a British Sherman Firefly (note the false ring on the gun barrel and how it's painted white underneath up towards the muzzle, along with the muzzle brake).
The special 32 1/2" grousers were for use on very soft ground and a full set gave a ground pressure of 7 psi. But they also caused the track to be more easily thrown when the tank tried to turn.
