Offizier im Armeestand - Rangabzeichen/Waffenfarbe

#1

Post by Melax » 04 Aug 2022, 19:05

Hi,

just a little question (I hope it is nothing complicated)

had "Offiziere im Armeestand" the same Rangabzeichen/Waffenfarbe as the unit they were assigned to?

example: would this also be the Rangabzeichen for a Hauptmann im Armeestand at a Feldjägerbataillon? :

or were there different colors? additions to the Schulterklappe?

thanks a lot :)

Alexander

EDIT: also: the same for Proviantoffizier, Oberleutnantrechnungsführer etc - any differences in color/insignia?

Hi Markgraf,

thank you - so just to understand this, this would be an Oberleutnantproviantoffizier right?

sorry, but the military terms are just so confusing so I don't know if I am thinking this right

Officers of the Armeestand were not designated to an unit like batallion or regiment. They were "im Stand" of an own "Konkretualstandesgruppe". This was called "Armeestand" (similar to Generalstab, Geniestab or Artilleriestab). There were three groups of officers in the Armeestand. Some of them were allocated to a local command (Lokalanstellung) or to schools as teacherrs or to higher commands as academic specialists.

And what about the Magazinsoffiziers? Some of them were in Armeestand.

For the FJB 1, the Magazinoffizier was a "Hauptmann im Armeestand" and I found him in the list Frech had mentioned.

Magazinsoffiziere were the exeption. In general they were the only one officers in a regiment or independent bataillon who belonged to the Armeestand or were retired officers (in Lokalanstellung), but were not "im Stand" of this unit.

It is interesting for me, because - as far as I know - the retired Magazinsoffiziers wore the unit's uniform. Probably was a customary law :)
