Hello Sturm78

The only one close to La Rochelle is Bat. Hertha on Ile de Re with 15 cm S.K.L/45 ( NARA )

Thanks for your answer, Jopaerya. According to my information the Bat. Hertha had 3x15cm SK L45 and two of these guns were casemated with M272 bunkers in 1944....so its very possible that you are right.

Hi all,

An image from Ebay. According to photo caption, an 24cm SK L40 gun at Sylt island, so I guess that this is a gun from SI Batterie

Hi,
it could not be S 1, because this battery have had 24 cm L/35. Thus it must be Fernkampfbatterie „S 2“ bzw. „Skagerrak“. This battery was used in the 1920-1936 as a Schulbatterie.

Hi Sturm, this is a 149/42 K. 1916 (K = Krupp) gun from the Tobruk defenses.
It was originally a German 15cm Ubts + Tbts KL-45 gun, mounted on German cruisers given to Italy as war prey after WW1.
It is recognized by the breech which protrudes far above the center line of the barrel (in your photo, the gun on the right in the background).
In Clerici's book it is misidentified as 152/40.

149-42 K.1916
Add another photo taken on the same occasion as the one in the book, where you can see the breech better (photo from the net)

Hello

Could this be a 24 cm Geschütz from Batterie Muschel at La Coubre?
