Obergefreite Heinz Munch - Panzerjager - 10 kills
Hello Antonio,

well, I have to admit that I'm no specialist on towed Pak to be true, so this man is unkown to me, but I'm sure he is =

Ogfr. Heinz Münch, 14./G.R. 234, Ehrenblattspange 7.9.1943. G.R. 234 was part of 56. Inf.Div. of course, but:

According to lexikon-der-wehrmacht (https://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Gl ... R234-R.htm):
Am 7. August wurde das Regiment der schwer bedrängten 260. Infanterie-Division unterstellt, nach schweren Kämpfen kehrte es am 24. August wieder zur Division zurück.

But, should it be 11 kills (at least)?

3 tanks in the Orel area already, than 1 tank within 50 metres range, than another 7 tanks ...

Hello Antonio,

according to the Book "Sturmartillerie" which gave some (very) short chronicles of several Sturmgeschütz-units, Lt. Hanstein destroyed 7 out of 28 T34 on 8.3.1945, the action described in the article. But he destroyed a further 6 T34 on 22.3.1945. As he got the EK1 on 5.11.1944 he for sure had more than these 13 tank kills.

Hm, well ...

württembergisch-badische Sturmdivision for sure means the 78. Volks-Sturmdivision (not Volkssturm-Division, be careful), so he must have been a member of that unit.

Otherwise ...

Strange, a Obergefreiter as a Jagdpanzer commander!

:-)

I found that one some years ago already, a hard nut to be true, but ...

Sudetendeutsche Panzerjäger-Abteilung and the high success of this Abteilung (43 tank kills) was essential pointing toward Pz.Jg.Abt. 53 of 5. Pz.Div.

His correct name was Paul Süßmuth from 2./Pz.Jg.Abt. 53, he "just" got the EK2 for his feat as it was his first action.

Hello Antonio,

no, Fw. Görlitz was just shooting the flares during the night, so that the Jagdpanzer of his company can see the sowjet tanks. He himself was not inside one of those tanks. I have seen the same newspaper clipping claiming him the Kompanietruppführer, not the Kompanieführer, what makes more sense to me.

Otherwise, I don't know the unit, sorry!

Could you find out the information about the tank kill score of Oberleutnant Hans Wilhelm Verch please? He was born in 1921 and was a German Cross in Gold holder. His unit was from 2./Stu.Gesch.Abt. GD.

Hauptmann Olaf von Kundesh - 35 kills
https://ipmsnymburk.com/forum/viewtema. ... tema=12068
