Well, I would say it's Rosa Luxemburg (1986).

Our riddle friend Helmut0815 was right!

The screenshot was from the 1986 CSSR/German production titled "Rosa Luxemburg".

A film well worth seeing, Dame Barbara Sukowa as Rosa Luxemburg excellent, deeply touching...
Lexicon of international film: The careful and emotional biography of a woman focuses less on historical completeness and more on the personal inner motives of political action. Sensitive in staging, acting and photography, the film convinces in terms of content as a reflection on civil courage, incorruptible political morality and the courage to think utopian...

P.S. Whether the actors were carrying the right rifles or even carbines, what does it matter at all...

Aha, Helmut0815,

Feature film, or documentation, good puzzle!

I guess "Berliner Ballade" from the year 1948, the screenshot reminds me about this very famous movie.

Bingo! Filmed as a science fiction movie in 1936, the incidents depicted by H.G. Wells novel soon became true. The picture shows Everytown (=London), bombed on December 23th, 1940, in reality 3 months earlier. Over to you.

Thank you.

I chose this picture as I have one of these bad boys, albeit not in so good a shape.

First the rifle model, and later the year have helped me discover this movie unknown to me.
I was thinking of a Chinese sailor, or Indian, Mexican too...it was quite difficult this time.
It also seems hard to find for viewing.

But International Firearms Data Base, works miracles.

Hi LineDoggie,

that's just bean counting, it's about the film, which is well worth seeing, that's all.
You know the fun, in each batch of donuts, filling one of the cakes with a shot of mustard instead of jam.

The unlucky ones (G:"Pechvögel"), they always get the pancake with the mustard...

Shit happens!

Correctomundo von Thoma.

I thought the clue without giving the year might be a bit hard to find.

And a fine resource the IMFDB is.

Your turn please.
