Foreign Volunteers with the Fallschirmjäger

At least one Swede served as a Fallschirmjäger. Not too much is known; he was half German, Richard Ulm. The only information I have is that he joined the Luftwaffe to avoid service in the SS. Ended up as a FJ on the western front and was captured there. Returned to Sweden shortly after the end of the war.

a company (5th company) in the 845th Arab-german battalion but many deserted to join their old commander (ending up in the 9th fallschirmjäger division) if you want to learn more about them you could get the book.

Their commander schacht mentioned "his" Arab in a personal letter he wrote:

"....in November 1944 word got around that i had been entrusted with the activation of a parachute regiment for special special employment. Before this month was over approximately 100 Arabs had deserted from their jobs with various staff to volunteer for service in the new Regiment under the leadership of officers who commanded them in the tunisian campaign. They formed an extra company for the regiment. During the fighting in March and April 1945 in pomerania and on the oder marches the Arab company fully proved it's effectiveness. In at least two instances i owed my life to the Arabs. Their losses were in proportion to their courage." also their Regiment was the 25th fallschirmjäger of Regiment of the 9th fallschirmjäger division and your welcome.
