Loose Magazine on Denix MP40
I just got a Denix MP40 and am happy with it overall.
However the only thing I don't like is the magazine rattles a bit unless you are holding it in the shooting position.
I would imagine on a real one the loading/shooting mechanism locks the magazine firmly in place. However with no such mechanism to do this it rattles a bit.
Anyone have any tips to stop the rattle without being too visible?
Thanks

Re: Loose Magazine on Denix MP40
Some rattle is likely due to magwell tolerances being larger or magazine being undersized.
You could try shimming it

"Denix" are small arms reproductions made in China, right..?
"Toys" for "late warriors" who dress up in repro Waffen-SS uniforms and frighten harmless walkers in the woods, right?
And then the magazine of the German MP-40 (Maschinenpistole 40) "klappert", das kann ja wohl nicht wahr sein..!
Maschinenpistole 40 https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maschinenpistole_40
Then there are hints on how to get this scrap rattle-free, hard to believe, but reality here in the forum.
And all this nonsense in the good topic here "Small Arms", is it still ok, or should I call the Doctor..?

Well made in Spain actually.
And you're right. If I don't scare some innocent members of the public by goosestepping out of woods every day I just don't feel like I've accomplished anything that day.

Thank you, in the 1970s, the best reproductions of Wehrmacht weapons were produced in Japan.
The quality was excellent, they were called "Modellwaffen", and free to buy for every person above the age of 18 years back then.
You could load these model weapons, the barrel was blocked, the price for a "Japanese" MP40 was just under 200 German marks.
A real old German MP40 didn't cost more than 600.- German Marks, but was illegal to own...

You guys have fun with the Spanish made MPs, we shot the originals in the early 1970's.
A cartridge cost less than 10 pfennigs, tracer ammunition on the occasion of New Year's Eve was cheap, just spat out...
We fired whole salvos with these guns, just for fun...

Drunk as shit, young idiots on the loose...
* Nobody was harmed then.
Black powder muzzleloaders were bad, many exploded in the hands of the shooters, double and triple charges ripped the weapons, the drunk shooters didn't care, hand broke, fate...
Drunk men and guns, not a good combination.
