": servicemen of repair units of the Western Military District carry out continuous work on the restoration and repair of military equipment in the field"

" training of those mobilized at the tankodrome in Buryatia

◽️ Mobilized servicemen improve the skills of managing tanks and IFVs.

◽️ During the training, crews on T-80 tanks and BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles practice the operational occupation of their positions on equipment and high-speed overcoming of a section of rough terrain.

◽️ To create an environment that is closest to the real one, various natural and artificial obstacles are located on the route of the equipment, limiting maneuverability and visibility. Smoke and imitation tools were used to create conditions of limited visibility.

Classes with mobilized military personnel are held under the guidance of experienced instructors, taking into account the specifics of conducting modern armed conflicts and a special military operation."

You are right.

There is a tactic that the Russians use called the "tank carousel". Several tanks take turns shooting at targets, one by one.
A Cantabrian circle, been around for a looooong time.

What's the deal with thin bands of various colours on some Russians' trousers?
Broad armbands would seem more traditional and more sensible for identification purposes.

The Military Balance 2022 gives updated figures for Russian tank strengths prior to the "Special Military Operation". Operational numbers were approx. 800 greater than the previous year.

3,417 tanks operational.

417 T-90
580 T-80
2,420 T-72

Probably under 2000 new tanks, including T-62M and T-64, have been either refurbished for the new Russian army or sent to Ukraine since then.

"Major General Alexander Shestakov told the Red Star about the work of the Main Armored Vehicle Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation "

"there are five main areas of activity of the Main Armored Vehicle Directorate:

• construction of a system of tank engineering and automotive support;
• organization of tank technical support and automotive support in the Armed Forces;
• provision of troops (forces) with armored weapons and equipment, military vehicles according to their nomenclature;
• planning the development of armored weapons and equipment, military vehicles;
• ensuring military-technical cooperation with foreign countries in accordance with their areas of activity. "

"The work of the department contributes to the acceleration of the development of new and modernization of the operated models of armored weapons and equipment. "

💬«... All Russian armored vehicles produced since 2021 are being modified, allowing in the field to install elements of additional protection ofthe sides and stern with lattice screens, as well as additional armor. Protection kits are produced separately and supplied to the troops. Simultaneously with the saturation of troops with modern weapons, military equipment is unified due to their placement on single basic platforms. "

💬«... Currently, a systematic comprehensive re-equipment of the Ground Forces with modern weapons is underway, and in parallel, a complex of research and development work is underway to create promising models of weapons and military equipment. Anew class of combat vehicle was adopted - a tank support combat vehicle that provides suppression and destruction of both tank-dangerous targets and tanks and other enemy armored objects. The use of this machine in combat formations can significantly increase the combat capabilities of tanks and their survivability on the battlefield. Work is underway to create promising tanks, tracked and wheeled infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers as part of the experimental design work "Armata", "Kurganets-25", "Boomerang"."
