Nice, I was looking for the origine of the name "Stahl", is it possible that his first name was Eugen ?

Furthermore I visited this place in 2021, the only place to park your car, in the neighborhood, is at the entrance of the meadow.
I did not enter the private land, but instead I used my drone to film / take pictures, which his sometimes very useful, in case the
property is not accesible for some reason.

Yes, Eugen is correct.

Do you have any further informations about him or even 1262? I am looking for all kind of informations as my grandfathers cousin seems to have been CO of HKAR 645/1262 until April 1944.

regards,
Alexander

Thanks for the confirmation

Maybe this article is helpful, it's in French but using Google Translate should not be a problem...

The Flak unit could be Fla-Zug 1006 du Heer which was positioned near the Auderville battery at least in 1942 and 1943.

Hello!
I have new informations about Eugen Stahl, the commander of battery stahl. It seems as he was the commander of "Les Couplets" 8./1261. Does anyone has documents or pictures of Les Couplets or also from the command post at Gouberville? Thanks!

Hello duesentorben,

Gouberville is located just west of Gatteville on the northeastern corner of the Cotentin peninsula.

Which command post are you referring to?

There is also a town named Goubersville with an "s" but it is near St-Mère-Eglise and inland.
