From Hibernation to Humiliation? Russia Brings T-54 Tanks Out of Retirement
The CIT team has obtained photographs of a train transporting military vehicles from Russia’s Far East.
We identified the vehicles as Soviet-era T-54/55 series tanks: T-54s as well as tanks which may be either late T-54 or T-55 tanks were both on that train.

Zelensky came to visit the outskirts of Bakhmut. The Ukrainian top leadership really wants the garrison to hold out until the last man..

Still no Ukrainian counteroffensive yet. At the current rate the city will likely fall in 1-2 weeks.

https://sg.news.yahoo.com/zelensky-visi ... 29788.html

"President Volodymyr Zelensky said Wednesday that he visited military positions near the frontline town of Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine, the scene of the longest and bloodiest battle since Russia's invasion."

A train transporting T 54/55 tanks from the Far East is not a proof that these tanks were going to Ukraine .
And last year Slovakia announced that it would give Ukraine 28 T54 tanks .Is this a humiliation for Ukraine ?

A man from Mariupol drove a car along the route that Putin was traveling.
4:25 the road section shown in the BBC video;
14:25 children's playground and a 5-storey residential building where Putin talked with its residents.
If you watch the video from beginning to end, you will see new blocks of residential buildings: 3, 5 and 9-storey buildings.
45,000 people work in construction companies that erect new and restore partially destroyed buildings, of which 12,000 are local residents and 33,000 came from Russia, including 4,000 are military builders.
Military builders are building 5-storey houses.
Before the outbreak of hostilities, 450,000 people lived in Mariupol.
Now, apparently, 250,000 people live in the city.

"Ukraine’s use of artillery shells – 4,000 to 7,000 a day to Russia’s 20,000 – was outrunning western manufacturing. “The current rate of ammunition expenditure is higher than the current production rate,” Stoltenberg said, although new contracts meant that was changing."

So the current NATO claim is 5-3: 1 superiority. In the Luhansk campaign they were claiming up to 10:1 .

Russian sources claim:

Ukrainians hold 16.75% of Bakhmut.

19.69% is the 'grey zone', with forces on both sides mixed up together.

Im sure the RU command, in a time of war and scarcity, has somehow decided to refit and send T-54 tanks west for a reason entirely unrelated to the war.

The informed reader will no doubt see the sarcasm in that last sentence.

And yes, UKR having the necessity of receiving the M-55S is something of a humiliation. However, this is mitigated somewhat by several important points:
1) UKR is not a world power, and is barely even a local power,
2) UKR has no choice in matter as their domestic tank production is virtually nil,
3) UKR did not invade RU
4) The M-55S is far superior to the T-54/55 and likely a match for the T-62 (yes, not exactly a front line unit)

RU started this war, and invaded in a manner that we can we can see was totally unprepared. RU is now so desperate for heavy weapons they are refurbishing T-54/55, just like I predicted last year.

How can anyone not come to the conclusion that RU is experiencing a severe tank shortage, or at least a shortage related to tanks (ammo availability, spare parts, etc) that directly impacts tank usage.

Ha, I'm back with some "neutral country" perspectives.
Chinese domestic propaganda is still in full swing attacking US and European aid to Ukraine - arguing that it does not help peace and only affects the "peace talks".
This is simply bullshit.
After the meeting between Putin and Xi Jinping, I think it's worth watching for further developments in Chinese arms exports.
Honestly, it's really painful to live here, unlike Europe or the US where you have the possibility to hate some of the government's decisions and have the means to actually oppose them. here I hate everything they do every day but there is little I can do about it, I see I'm becoming some kind of "German citizen bystander in 1933".
