Well undoubtely that’s not the answer I was looking for.
Try something nearly 10 years later than the 1933 “sons of the desert”.

No interest or no luck in the italian I posted besides a wrong answer by Helmut.
1942 and planes would be a good lead.

Yes OpanaPointer, good question…?
Uncle John, I’m not sure but not Rome!
The main role also directed the movie if it’s any help as a clue.

Some more help then!
The little “Tinkerbell” is flying over and kissing what..?
And who could (and did!) win such a famous trophy..?
The film has been mentioned earlier.

Well, Uncle John as you are one of the few to respond but not the first I’ll give you the answer (LineDoggie already and correctly answered the riddle ages ago per PM).
The first of the few
Italian actor Filippo Del Giudice portraying Bertorelli, a MVSN officer at the 1927 Schneider Trophy in Venice, Italy.
The “wave kissing tinkerbell” is the trophy itself.

All yours Uncle John or any of the few who are still interested.
