Hallo Freiherr,
sorry I have no pictures. Please, pay attention. The name is "Fritz Steger", not "Stegeler".

Hi Freiherr
HEre is a photo of WALTER Scheunemann (EL 202). I have the feeling there is a mismatch with OTTO Schünemann (OL 339).

Hi Oberstab and Denis,

Thanks for pointing out all the typos! Alcohol and German don't mix. And thank you Denis for Walter Scheunemann. Much appreciated.

Found a picture of Freiherr von Gravenreuth (look at those ears!!) I am not that convinced he was the man next to Steger. But whoever he was, he probably was not Helmut Ringler either. Ringler participated at Eban Emael so if it were him in the pic ( the luftwaffe officer looked like he had the RK ) he would at least have the fallschimschutzenabzeichen or be more decorated.
The guy on the extreme right was not Franz Berger.

Cheers
Freiherr

Should we perhaps assume that the officers are from Panzer Lehr?

Best regards/ Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Not likely, as the guy shaking hands with the general had a cuff title (so GD? Unfortunately nobody else's cuff was showing!! The guy shaking hands and the RKT both had lettering on their should boards suggesting GD ) With the exception of the second NCO from the left, they all had the Allgemaines Sturmabzeichen. Looks more like a bunch of sturmgeschutze guys than a late war Lehr get-together.

There is zero info regarding this pic. It's from "Orders, Decorations, Medals and Badges of the Third Reich" by Littlejohn and Dodkins.

Cheers
Freiherr

Thanks to Denis, he reminded me of the mystery general who was at the RK award ceremony of Kurt Kirchner of StugAbt 667.

Generals who looked familiar are, from left to right, Ulrich Liss; Paul Haehling von Lanzenauer and Boeckh Behrens.

Cheers

Hello
The General shaking hands with GD soldiers is Gen.Obst. Friedrich Fromm who was later involved in the "20. Juli" plot.
As for the unknown RKT who doesn't dare to look at us, I don't know for the moment.
Regards
Denis

Hi again,
I have looked for the unknown KC holder. I f we assume that the following points are true :
- he was awarded the RK as a member of the Pz. Gre. Div. "GD"
- he was awarded the RK before 20/07/44
- he was not posthumously awarded the KC
- his rank when he was awarded the KC was inferior or equal to Obefeldwebel/Oberwachtmeister

Then we have a short list of 5 recipients :
- Hans Hindelang
- Wilhelm Kessel
- Hans Klem
- Leopold Poschusta
- Wilhelm Wegner

I have only photos from Hindelang, Kessel and Klem and among those ones, Kessel is the soldier who is the closest with the unID'd RKT. Should anybody have a pic for Poschusta and Wegner, feel free to post it !
Regards
Denis

Oops, forgot to post the general awarding the RK to Kirchner. And, as always, Denis, thank you for your help.

Hi,

Could anyone identify these?

In a.jpeg, at the minimum the two guys that were not in summer uniform had RK's.

In b.jpeg, its GFM Busch and an EL winner. He looked a little like Friedirch Lier.

c.jpeg was supposed to be in Russia. Nobody could identify anything from this pic which I took from wehrmacht-awards.com

Cheers
Freiherr
