While I was looking through an old aviation magazine I came across the following photo of what was captioned as a German 'Flying Saucer'.
I would be most grateful if anyone can supply me with any info about this machine.

Yes, but the V-173 was merely a technology demonstrator for the Vought F5U STOL fighter, which never flew beyond just a few hops during taxi tests.
