Wachregiment „Großdeutschland“ entstand im Feber 1945 aus dem Wachbataillon „Großdeutschland“, und wurde der Infantrie-Division „Groß-Berlin“, der späteren Infanterie-Division 309 unterstellt.
Wachregiment „Großdeutschland“ was formed in February 1945 from the Wachbataillon „Großdeutschland“ and attached to the InfDiv „Groß-Berlin“, the later InfDiv 309.

Das Wachregiment war als ein verstärktes Regiment mit „16“ in Wirklichkeit mit 12 Kompanien gegliedert.
It was an improved infantry regiment with "16" correct 12 coys.

Da dieses Wachregiment außerhalb jedweder Mobilisierungswelle formiert wurde, hattes es auch eine andere Gliederung als Regimenter zur selben Zeit.
As this regiment was not formed within a mobilizing wave it had a different OOB than regiments of the same period.

Nach Norden wurde ein Ausbruchsversuch mit den letzten gepanzerten Fahrzeugen (Panzer & andere) unternommen.
Rund 5 gepanzerte Fahrzeuge mit 80 Mann schafften es bis nach ORANIENBURG, zur deutschen Linie.
Unmittelbar danach wurden die 5 Fahrzeuge aufgrund Spritmangels gesprengt.
Outbreak with the last armoured vehicles (tanks & other) to the north.
About 5 armoured vehicles and 80 men made it to Oranienburg to the new German front-line outside of Berlin.
There the 5 vehicles were destroyed, because of lack of fuel.

In my (self compiled) files I have Hogrebe as commanding Feldwach-Rgt GD which was formed from Wach-Rgt GD after February 1945 with command of Feldwach-Rgt GD being taken over by an Oberstleutnant Müller.
