John, the man next to Balck is Balthasar Woll (or Wöll?) from the Leibstandarte (LSSAH). I think he was the gunner of Michael Wittmann.
Regards.

Albrecht Brandi

Post by Edward L. Hsiao » 18 Jun 2004 21:41

Gentlemen!

The RKT.(21)jpg. is U-boat commander Albrecht Brandi. That scene was from "Die Deutsche Wochenschau." I'm a big collector of these videos! :)

Regards,

Edward

Do you know which U-Boot's sign is that?

I'm not sure.

Dear Sir,

I'm don't know yet. But I think the U-boat that Brandi was commanding was the U-617 returning from a patrol in the Mediteranian Sea. Forgive me if I can't spell Mediteranian right! :|

In Schnauffer_crew1.jpeg, extreme right was Schnauffer's bordschütze ObFwb Wilhelm Gänsler. In Schnuaffer_crew2.jpeg, second from left was indeed Lt Friedrich Rumplehardt, Schnauffer's bordfunker. Who was RKT in the middle?

Freiherr:
It is Johann Engelhardt: http://www.das-ritterkreuz.de/index_sea ... wert1=1287

The pic "student_altmann_maybe" is indeed Altmann.
