Looks like these pics were from the same series as the Rudolf Konrad pic. The big cross from the medal display could be Dietl's grand cross with swords of the order of the White Rose of Finland.

That would narrow the universe down a little for the two officers and the two NCO's.

THe RKT from Dietl funeral should in theory belong to the Gebirgstruppe.

I sometimes find that a picture of an RKT I have is not in fact the person I thought it was.

Here are a few images where I have left the name of the one I had it down as, but am now not sure.

Can anyone identify them?

Thanks Stauffenberg II

If it is Broich, why is he wearing an Army uniform, with what look like General's collar tabs? Also, why does he not look like the man in another photo described as Broich in das-ritterkreuz.de?

These are the questions that made me doubt the ID in the first place.

regards
John

Hi Fangio

Thanks for clearing up the Broich issue. Any thoughts on the others?

I have a vague recollection that the Luftwaffe LT (Meyer-Wehner, Elimar) was a pilot at Eben Emael or Gran Sasso or Crete or some other FSJ adventure but I can't remember where I saw it.

John
according to http://www.das-ritterkreuz.de there is a Elimar Meyer who won the RK on 17.09.1943 as Lt and Lastenseglerpilot 12./LuftlandeG 1.
No pic is shown.

It's a mistery, I also have him as a glider pilot and that he won the RK for the Gran Sasso operation. I think I read this in http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com (forum).

Regards.

FANGIO
