Fangio,

“Unk RKT (Webshots).jpg” is Maximilian (Max) Burghartswieser, but he was KIA on 22 August 1942 in Russia so I don’t know if that’s really his signature. Maybe someone just penned his name on it for I.D. purposes.

Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross: 9 July 1941, Oberfeldwebel, Stoßtruppführer in the 7th Company of Gebirgsjäger-Regiment 100 (for action on Crete).

Best regards,
Shawn

a3 & a4 looks a bit like Generalmajor Hermann Lichtenberger but I'm unsure, He's an Oberst & by the looks of the pics It's just post war, possibly at surrender. Do you have dates of them?

Hello
I dig up some old pictures.
Here is one posted page 34 by Klemen. I don't remember if he was identified but this is Wilhelm Kessel from the GD Division.

Denis

Hi again
Here is another which was posted page 40. Sorry don't remember the original member who posted it.
Anyway, the 2nd RKT (when looking from left) was identified as Sandner and I agree with that. The 4th guy (when looking from left) / 3rd RKT is Josef Ehinger who is also a RKT from Gebirgsjäger.
The officer between Sandner and Ehinger remains for the moment unidentified.

Denis

3 - Herbert Hodurek - RK 15.04.1944 Hauptmann Fhr. III./Geb.Jäg.Rgt. 144 / 3. Geb.Div.
4 - Josef Ehinger - RK 22.08.1943 Oberjäger Grp.Fhr. i. d. 6./Geb.Jäg.Rgt. 100 / 5. Geb.Div.
5 - unknown
By the way, is there any way to clean this thread by putting on a single thread the pictures which were identified and on another one, pictures whose identification is still pending ? It would greatly ease data consultation since this thread comes from 50 pages and might also increase the response rate !!

Another one :
This photo was posted by Freiherr on page 28. I have tried to identify it and I have said this was Malguth but I was wrong.
If I can try a second times (hope it will the good one), I would say that this might be Max Ropp.
Here is the pic posted by Freiherr coming from the abyss of this thread :
