Hi Hardigan, I really don't think it's Schümers.

Yes, Giesecke and Schümers plus Hans Traupe and probably Günther Butte (both with DKiGs).

Looking at this photo I get somewhat confused. Compare the length of the ribbon for example.

Daniel, rather try comparing their faces - a definite match :) .

Hi John,
The RKT on the extreme right of your photo is supposed to be Gerhard Friedrich. But then then a cropped pic of the same photo was all I had.

Cheers

In John's pic, the person on the extreme left looks like Mj Hans Georg Herzog, Kmdr, II/PzRGt14. He was RKT'ed on 06.04.44. Second from left was Karl Decker, Kmdr 5 Pz from 07.09.43 to 16.10.44.

Friedrich got his RK on 06.04.43 but DKiG on 10.01.44.

This would put the pic having been taken between April 44 to Oct 44. The background clearly was not summer so that would narrow down the number of possible RKTs as candidate for the yet unnamed man -- looks like he was just awarded the RK.

Cheers
Freiherr

Stumped!

Friedrich got DKiG on 10.01.44.

There were these officers who got RK then up to 16.10.44 which was when Decker left:

Lt Erich Abraham (posthumous)
Lt Prosper Graf zu Castell Castell (not him)
Mj Hans Georg Herzog
Obst Heinrich Steinwachs (not him)
Lt Josef Jenatschek (not him)
Lt August Kiene ??????
Obst Rolf Lippert (not him)
Hptm Edzard v Reden (not him)
ObLt Fritz Eschmann ??????
ObstLt i.G. Anton Detlev v Plato (not him)
Hptm Karl Seckler (posthumous)
Mj Friedrich Karl Nökel (not him)
Hptm Alfred Jedtke (not him)

Anyone know what these two looked like?

Cheers
Freiherr

Hallo,

I found the pic in the missing list of International Red Cross!

I Think that this on the photo is a RKT but the name is not to find! So this is a wrong name for a RKT photo!

Does anyone know who he is!?

Regards

Hannes

Dear Hannes

If Kertsch is where the RKT died, then there are the following possibilities.

Kociok, Josef
Ofw., Flugzeugfhr. i. d. 10. (N.J.)Z.G. 1
RK 31.07.43

Lt., Flugzeugfhr. i. d. 8./S.G. 3
RK 26.03.44
+ 27.1.44 bei Kertsch (Rußland); nachträglich zum Oblt. befördert

Sattler, Hans-Karl
Oblt., Flugzeugfhr. i. d. 8./S.G. 77
RK 16.02.42
+ 13.1.43 bei Kertsch (Rußland) als Staffelkpt.

Stegmann, Karl
Uffz., Hilfsbeobachter i. d. 7./Art.Rgt. 198
RK 20.01.44
+ 6.11.43 auf Halbinsel Kertsch (Rußland); nachträglich zum Wachtm. befördert

Waldhauser, Johann
Oblt., Staffelkpt. 9./S.G. 77
RK 24.01.42
+ 13.5.42 bei Kertsch (Rußland)

I hope this helps.

John

Doesn't look like Luftwaffe but Heer to me. I guess that's a grey panzer wraper he is wearing. Stegmann could be the one.

Best regards/ Daniel
