Hitler's salary as German führer was 1500 RM per month, of course he had other incomes as remuneration from "Mein Kampf" and stamps used his head portrait, and German plutocrats' tribute.
A skilled worker of Krupp factry was paid RM 180 per month.
A Mercedes 540K for RM 42000, a loaf of bread for RM 0.63 (1944), 100 kg tobacco for RM 200...

some prices in vienna at 1942 (most things were 20% more expensive than 1938):
1 kg bread 35 pf
1 kg pork meat 1,6 RM
1 kg butter 3, 6 RM
A male skilled factory worker earns about 80 pf per hour
a female factory helper about 40 pf
A star tenor at the ´state opera can have up to 30000 RM per year
a prima ballerina still 3000 RM
The cheapest funeral is 200 RM. (A family will get this amount if a soldier is killed)
In 1943 prices went up again, official prices were:
1 kg bread 35 pf
1 kg pork meat 2, 04 RM
1 kg sugar 74 pf
5 kg of coal 1,59 RM
(but it was almost impossible to get the products at this "official"price at all)

Here http://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?t=61791 you can find an extract from Dr.Best's book "Die Deutsche Polizei", which is a chart of Security Police ranks and respective salaries. As you see, the bottom margin is 3900 RM. The book was published in 1940. Any comment on this?

For the salaries of German military personnel in WWII, see my fellow moderator Christian Ankerstjerne's Panzerworld site at:The Reichsmark (Symbol: RM) was the currency in Germany from 1924 until June 20, 1948. It was replaced by the Deutsche Mark in West Germany and by the East German mark ("Mark der DDR" or "Ostmark") in East Germany.
It was introduced in 1924 as a replacement of the "Papiermark". this was necessary due to the hyperinflation which had reached its peak in 1923. The currency exchange rate between the Reichsmark and the old Papiermark was 1.000.000.000.000:1 (One trillion to one). It was pegged to the Dollar at a rate of 4.30 RM : 1 $. To stabilize the economy and to smoothen transition the "Papiermark" was not directly replaced by the Reichsmark, but by the Rentenmark, an interim currency backed by the Deutsche Rentenbank, owning industrial and agricultural real estate assets.
The term "Mark" is an old germanic name for currencies. It is in use since the 12th century. The Mark became Germany's main currency after its unification in 1871. However, many other local currencies co-existed in Germany till the early 20th century.

Here's another cheat sheet:
The above reference covers 1875-1989 with projections to 2010, so it may be of help to the 1914 Austro-Hungarian buffs.THE PROJECT GUTENBERG PRICE INDEX FROM 1875 TO 1989
1993 1.169856 [based on 1989 as 1.000000 base year]
D-D indicates prices from the end of one year to the end of the previous year. December to December is the official terminology.
Old$/1989$ 1989$/Old$ Yearly % D-D Adj
1945 0.125395 7.974769 3.2667%
1944 0.121429 8.235278 1.3228%
1943 0.119843 8.344216 2.7235%
1942 0.116666 8.571470 6.5229%
1941 0.109522 9.130582 6.1527%
1940 0.103174 9.692363 2.3626%

THE PROJECT GUTENBERG PRICE INDEX FROM 1875 TO 2010
How to use the chart, third set of examples:
This index will allow you to estimate the cost of any item in the dollars of any year included in the index.
Example: You know the cost of an item in 1900 was $1, and you want to know the cost it would have had in 1989 dollar figures [i.e. "adjusting for inflation"].
First go to the base year of 1900, in which 1.000000 is an estimated base for the year 1900.
Then look for the 1989 figure in the 1900 table:
1989 18.000607 0.055554
This indicates that the item costing $1 in 1900 would cost approximately $18 in 1989.
The second column is the inverse function, meaning an item costing $1 in 1989 would have cost about $.05 or $.06 back in the year 1900.
