Away

Post by Matt Gibbs » 03 Jul 2004 00:02

Hi folks,
I seem to have been out of circulation for a while. Partly writers block and far too many family and other issues in the air. However, I am back reading the boards again. Nice piece of info about the place of the awards from Joe I see. Thansk for that. Still hunting for names, but not finding any!. Hope you interested folks are all doing okay. I am doing research on Heydrich at the mo,.
Kind regards
Matt Gibbs

Kampftage

Post by Matt Gibbs » 12 Jul 2004 09:10

Hi Guys;
On the guy linked from above: he only has 6 days of anti partisan actions listed in his wehrpass, so not enough to qualify for the award..???

Unless you 'assume' he recieved a pothsumus award, but I doubt it. Any wehrpass with a definate signed award entry would sell for way more than this, and I am sure the seller would have known and put this on the site, since it is notarised that he was gefallen I am sure they would also have listed any award he was given before the pass was filed or sent to relatives etc etc.
regards

Matt, your post of November last year spelled a last name incorrectly. The correct spelling is Obw.d. Res. d. Schupo Hans Jächel. I found a complete copy of his soldbuch in my 1998 correspondance file sent by someone, while I was searching for another reference from that year.

Joe and Juha many thanks for those names! Out of interest I spell the names as I see, read or am told about them, which is why Jachel was on my list in that way. [Unless theres 2 of 'em!]
Just like taking the credited photo from Robin Lumsden's of Kuhbandner as being him - and someone must have told Mr Lumsden who the person in the photo was, as later disproved on this forum.
For anyone interested I recieved an encouraging letter from Robin Lumsden who told me that the late Dr Kleitmann gave him that information. I just realised this is the first post I made for over 6 weeks! Wow. Mind you, my wife is keeping me busy decorating :?

Hello Martin, those pictures are great, I have not been around for a while, but now I have seen them I wanted to express my appreciation, soon hoping to be back properly as a full forum helper.
Kind regards
