Identified KC-Holders Luftwaffe

Post by joerg » 11 Jan 2005 20:27

To "freiherr": posted 26.12.04, unidentified KC-Holders of the Luftwaffe, titled "MOD 366".
The left is Feldwebel Johann Trummer, the other is Oberfeldwebel Erich Morgenstern.

freiherr~

The signature looks like "Moll" to me, but no Moll, including Generalleutnant der Luftwaffe Hermann Moll, ever received the Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes. So perhaps the RKT is Maximilian Ritter von POHL, whose biography and 2 photos appear here (courtesy of Gareth Collins): http://www.geocities.com/%7Eorion47/WEH ... ILIAN.html

Thank you Georg. Good catch. Didn't think of Trummer. Same RK award date as Morgenstern SG5 04.05.44. Now I need to do more work to track down the other RKT and the general awarding the two the medals.

Thank you Mike for your suggestion. The signature still remains a mystery. There just weren't many plausible RKT with a name endong in "ll".

Cheers
Freiherr

How about this one, recently posted on the Wehrmacht Awards Forum (by JRA), suggested as Hubert Schulte. Could it be Oberst Graf von der Goltz from 3.Geb.Div.?

Need help with another SS-RKT!

An SS-Haupt- or Obersturmführer seen in the background wearing a uniform of a stug unit. Maybe Roehder? Any other suggestions?

Hello Fangio,

first could be Helmut Bode.
