Hello

I would have a suggestion to do to all members who have posted an identification request in this thread which becomes increasingly long and consequently difficult to access :

In order to ease future reading, would you be OK for the following thing :

Once the soldier was identified, the member who has requested the ID would have to update the concerned thread containing the picture and would have to insert the name of the Knights Cross holder.

Thus :
- people wouldn't have to consult several tens of pages to find a name,
- if the identification was wrong, it would be easier to detect
- if the picture wouldn't have a caption notifying the recipient's name, we should consider the soldier has not been identified yet and this could increase the response rate

I think this is the simpliest way to share the mass of information included in this thread. Any advices/opinions are welcome.
Regards
Denis

Here's one privatfoto I recently acquired. His name appears to be Major Dietrich Bruns, but I can't find any info on that.
Could someone support me with a confirmation of his name and some more info please ?
Thanks!
Diedrich Bruns / AHF id
see detailed Bio with a number of pics on the excellent 22. ID website http://www.historic.de/Militar/Personen/Bruns/Bruns.htm
of note : christian name indeed spelled Diedrich, see German Cross in Gold document for example.

I am struck by the resemblance between the Dietrich Bruns photo and this photo of Axel Bruns on the ritterkreuztrager.de website.

Two RKT one I think is Baum?

1st Photo- Kurt Franke at right. Can't ID the man at left now, but will try later unless someone beats me to it.

In 2nd photo: Vinzenz "Zenz" Kaiser.

Otto Baum does not appear in either photo.

The second is Karl Ulrich. The photo was taken March 1944 near Balta in Romania.

Hello John, thanks for bringing that up.
That's a little too much of coincidence for me. Maybe they were family, or are we (or the ritterkreuztrager.de guys) mixing up the names ?

This W-SS NCO appears on an e-bay site. Can anyone say who it is?
